Pokemon Pokopia has its first event beginning with the opportunity to add Hoppip to the lineup, and here’s everything to know about the debut event in the hottest Pokemon game going today.
As latest game in the Pokemon universe, Pokopia invites players to become Ditto and rebuild a desolate island. They can meet other Pokemon, craft, and rebuild a lush new world in this cozy life simulator. But the Pokopia is set to go well beyond the base game, and live updates and events means new things to look forward to.
More Spores for Hoppip introduces three new Pokemon for players to befriend, and players should hurry to do so before the event ends.
What is More Spores for Hoppip in Pokopia?
Pokopia’s first big event, More Spores for Hoppip, lets players collect spores to eventually unlock Hoppip and its evolutions.
Hoppip is a Gen 2 Pokemon also featured recently in Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Wisdom of Sky and Sea and Secluded Springs sets. Known as the Cottonweed Pokemon, it has a two stage evolution – all of which are now available in Pokopia.

While some Pokemon are available in Pokopia from launch, it seems that Nintendo is going to slowly roll out others through events. More Spores for Hoppip is available now but only runs for a limited amount of time, meaning players are going to want to get started on it as quickly as possible.
How to play through the More Spores for Hoppip event
Players will need to help Hoppip find its spores spread across Pokopia for the More Spores event in Pokemon Pokopia. To start the event, players must login after March 6 at 5 am and have rebuilt the Withering Wasteland Pokemon Center.
For most players, the Center should have completed on their second in-game day.
Players should then head to the Withering Wasteland Pokemon Center, now covered in flowers. Hoppip is floating nearby and can be added to the Pokedex by speaking to it. After that, Hoppip shares that it lost its spores and they cannot be found in regular locations.

Instead, the player needs go speak with Drifloon with a doll in their inventory. Drifloon can take players to one Dream Island per day that they can visit as many times as they’d like in that one day. Spores will be everywhere, including underground, and do not require any special ability to catch. They do, however, require the necessary inventory space to collect.
Spores don’t respawn once collected, so players will want to be sure to visit an island each day to unlock all of the rewards.
Rewards in More Spores for Hoppip
The More Spores for Hoppip event offers players two different tracks for rewards: items and habitats.
To unlock the habitats and thus the Pokemon Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff, players need to spend their cotton spores on different event items. These range in price from 5 to 15 cotton spores and can be found at Hoppip’s shop in the Withering Wasteland Pokemon Center.
| Item | Cost |
| Dandy cotton spores | 5 spores for 5 bags of seeds |
| Flower backpack | 5 spores |
| Hoppip water bottle | 5 spores |
| Juice trio | 5 spores |
| Lunch box | 5 spores |
| Flower cushion | 10 spores |
| Flower garlands | 10 spores for 10 garlands |
| Flower table | 10 spores |
| Flowery table setting | 10 spores |
| Picnic blanket | 15 spores |
Some items, such as dandy flowers, are necessary to summon new Pokemon. Others, such as the flower garlands, are just ways to decorate the island. To build a habitat, players need to put the correct items, plants, and other required items in a free spot.
These are the correct combination of items needed to lure in Hoppip and its evolutions:
| Habitat | Items needed | Pokemon lured |
| Yellow carpet | 4 dandy flowers | Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff |
| Field-trip friends | Flower backpack, Hoppip water bottle, and lunchbox | Skiploom |
| Dandelion lunchtime | Dandy flower, flower cushion, lunch box, flowery table setting | Jumpluff |
Despite having the habitat, Jumpluff in particular is a rare spawn that may take time to appear in Pokopia. And unlike other games like Scarlet and Violet, players can’t swap in Pokemon from Pokemon Home. It may take time to get all three of these Pokemon on the island.
With over 300 Pokemon to befriend in Pokopia, events like More Spores with Hoppip are likely to keep popping up and adding more characters to the game. Players have until March 25 to collect as many spores as possible and set up habitats to complete this event.
