Persona 4 Revival, the long-rumored Persona 4 remake, has officially been revealed the platform list might be jarring for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One holdouts.
The idea of a Persona 4 remake has been floating around for years, with discourse heating up and cooling down on several occasions. Things heated up once again in early 2025 but became red hot when Yosuke voice actor Yuri Lowenthal seemingly confirmed that a remake is in the works.
Fans got a surprise confirmation at the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, which gave fans a teaser trailer showing off the game’s overhauled graphics. It also came with official word on which platforms the game will release on, and there are some surprises therein.
Persona 4 Revival platform list confirmed
The Persona 4 remake is officially confirmed for release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. There was no word on Persona 4 Revival coming out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Switch 2 consoles.
The PC release will be available through Xbox PC and Steam. That is a jarringly short list of platforms in comparison to what Atlus fans have been seeing of late.
Sega and its subsidiaries have adopted a broad multiplatform approach to its major releases in recent years. Atlus in particular has emphasized this, with Persona 3 Reload getting released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Other games like Persona 5 Tactica and included most or all of these platforms alongside the Nintendo Switch.
Persona 4 Revival only being confirmed for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC is a break from that approach. The big question now is whether future releases are possible.
Will the Persona 4 remake come out on Nintendo Switch 2?
Persona 4 Revival was not confirmed to be receiving a Nintendo Switch 2 release. A future release is possible, and is relatively likely.
Regardless, this is a bit of surprise given Sega and Atlus’ approach to Nintendo consoles.
Though the publishers didn’t offer consistent support to the Nintendo Switch, Sega is one of the most prolific third-party publishers when it comes to the Switch 2. Sega had three games ready for the launch of the Nintendo Switch in Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Sonic X Shadow Generations, and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S. Atlus has also confirmed that Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Some publishers were forced to play catch-up with Nintendo being extremely secretive regarding the console. Sega, however, was in on the secret.
Persona 4 Revival still reportedly coming to Switch 2, some day
Leakers have long reported that the Persona 4 remake is set for release on Nintendo Switch 2.
In 2024, leaker Im A Hero Too stated that a Persona 4 remake was in the works at Atlus and that it would come to Nintendo’s yet-to-be-announced next-generation Switch. Many of Im A Hero Too’s statements around taht time have come to pass. Alongside discussing the Persona 4 remake in early 2024, he stated that Square Enix was test-running a Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be released on Nintendo Switch 2.
It’s unclear what the holdup at Atlus regarding Persona 4 Revival on Switch 2 and what the delay might be. There’s also no word on when a Switch 2 version might come out relative to the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC release.
No release date information was given on Persona 4 Revival, so expect plenty of big reveals on the game to come in the coming months.
