Explaining Inner Fire in 33 Immortals, and how to build stacks

The first boss in 33 Immortals

The full release of 33 Immortals has added a bunch of new content to the already packed game, including the Inner Fire combat mechanic.

The roguelike genre has exploded in the mainstream gaming scene thanks to Hades and other successful titles like it, and multiple developers have since introduced more unique twists to it. 33 Immortals is a good example of just such a game, seeing players play alongside 32 other compatriots to get through its varied stages and bosses.

33 Immortals gives players a variety of weapons, abilities, and combat mechanics to benefit from. Inner Fire is one of those mechanics, and knowing it can help you last longer while rebelling against God’s judgment.

What is Inner Fire and what does it do in 33 Immortals?

Inner Fire is essentially a combat mechanic that lets players increase the damage dealt and reduce the damage taken after building up enough stacks.

Instead of just being one constant ability, Inner Fire is a combat buff that can be stacked. Players can increase their Inner Fire stacks while engaging in close-combat battle until they max out. When it does, the Inner Fire mechanic grants players two significant buffs:

  • Increased damage output
  • Increased defense

While it’s only temporary, this buff can still help players get out of sticky situations that may pop up. 33 Immortals is a roguelike that gradually bumps up its difficulty as players progress in any run, which means that certain challenges can eventually take you down in one shot. Having a way to brush off those enemy attacks and retaliate harder than ever can really come in handy.

Getting an Inner Fire relic in 33 Immortals

As for how exactly players can start building Inner Fire stacks, that has to do with the game’s relic system. Defeating bosses lets you get your hands on random relics, with some of them letting you build Inner Fire stacks. In particular, you want relics that belong to the Path of Honor. Most of the relics belonging to this category work toward letting players build Inner Fire stacks.

Inner Fire-related relics in 33 Immortals range from letting players build Inner Fire by landing heavy attacks with the game’s best weapons to enhancing the effect of the buff if the right conditions are met. The game also has certain Boost Relics and Duo Relics that can make Inner Fire buffs more effective, letting players better sustain themselves during combat.

All Relic Paths in 33 Immortals

33 Immortals has six Relic Paths at the time of its launch, with all of them helping players construct different types of builds.

The table below highlights all six of the Relix Paths in 33 Immortals, including their core mechanics.

Relic PathCore Mechanics
Path of HonorGrants Inner Fire for more damage and higher defense. Perfect for those looking for a safe and reliable path.
Path of UnityIncreases the effectiveness of Co-op Powers and Co-op Power Orbs.
Path of MaliceIncreases the chances of landing critical hits and overall burst damage.
Path of VaingloryHelps add additional projectiles to ranged attacks.
Path of RevengeLets players deal AoE damage as rebuttal attacks.
Path of MercyBetter sustain by letting players heal others and increase the chances of dropping Healing Orbs.

Every Relic Path supports a specific playing style. Players can go for builds that have high burst damage or those that help them heal other players, giving more freedom of choice and more ways to come out on top of a 33 Immortals run.
