Genshin Impact Flins build guide – Best artifacts, weapons, teams

genshin impact flins build

Genshin Impact’s Flins, Nod-Krai’s first DPS, is on his way, and with the right build, weapons, and teammates, he can carry any team in the game.

With Nod-Krai’s debut, Lunar reactions are beginning to carve out a meaningful place in the game’s meta. For the second phase of Luna I, Flins is entering the game as an Electro polearm carry. In terms of playing style, Flins does not offer anything expressly new besides a new reaction. But he stlil brings plenty of value and can output quite a lot of damage with the right build.

Read on to find out how Flins’ new kit works and the best build and teams for him.

How to play Flins in Genshin Impact

Flins is an on-field Electro DPS who revolves around Lunar-Charged. Whenever players trigger Electro-Charged, his kit converts it into a Lunar-Charged reaction.

A large share of Flins’ damage comes from his Elemental Burst, which counts as Lunar-Charged damage. Similar to Varesa, Flins can unlock an enhanced version of his Burst under certain conditions, reducing the cost from 80 to just 30 Energy. Unlike the regular burst, the special burst deals way more damage.

The special Burst can only be activated if it’s cast immediately after Flins’ Elemental Skill. Once his skill is used, his normal attacks become infused with Electro and he gains a bit of interruption resistance, similar to Raiden Shogun during her Burst. In addition, every six seconds Flins gains access to a special skill that allows him to land an AoE electro attack.

The best way to maximize the character’s kit is to pair him with another Moonsign unit to activate the Ascendant Gleam state, which essentially gives him access to higher damage, and to pair him with Electro and Hydro units.

Best artifact sets for Flins

When considering the best artifact sets for Flins, players should prioritize using 4-piece Night of the Sky, Gilded Dreams, or Marechaussee Hunter.

Night of the Sky’s Unveiling

Under the right conditions, Night of the Sky’s Unveiling gives the best value out of all options for Flins. In fact, he might be the best unit to capitalize on this artifact set.

Besides the Elemental Mastery increase, Flins gets a Crit Rate buff and a teamwide 10% Lunar Reaction Damage buff. Lunar-Charged reaction damage can crit, so a 30% Crit Rate is a huge help for Flins. Note that the buff is cut in half without a second Nod-Krai member, so consider running him alongside another character from the region.

Gilded Dreams

Gilded Dreams serves as a strong alternative to Night of the Sky’s Unveiling. This gives him a decent amount of both Attack and Elemental Mastery. The base damage dealt by Lunar-Charged depends on how much Attack he has, and a portion of it is converted into Elemental Mastery.

Building Elemental Mastery is necessary as well given that Lunar-Charged, being a transformative reaction, scales off of this stat.

Marechaussee Hunter

Marechaussee Hunter ranks as the second-best set for Flins, though it comes with a big caveat. Since Flins has no HP fluctuation mechanics in his kit, he cannot trigger the set’s effect on his own. However, this becomes possible if Furina is part of the team. With the effect active, Flins gains a boost to his Normal and Charged Attack damage, along with a whopping 36% Crit Rate.

Best Flins weapons in Genshin Impact

The best weapons for Flins in Genshin Impact are Bloodsoaked Ruins, Staff of the Scarlet Sands, Staff of Homa, and Primordial Jade Winged-Spear.

Bloodsoaked Ruins (5-star)

Signature weapons are always the best choice for any 5-star character, and the same applies to Flins. Bloodsoaked Ruins offers nearly everything he needs: Lunar-Charged damage, Crit Damage, Crit Rate, and Energy Recharge, though it does lack in Elemental Mastery. When combined with his best-in-slot artifact set or Marechaussee Hunter, the additional Crit Rate is often enough to let players opt for a Crit Damage circlet instead.

Staff of the Scarlet Sands (5-star)

Staff of the Scarlet Sands is the second-best polearm for Flins. Much like Bloodsoaked Ruins, it provides Crit Rate. Twice as much, in fact. Flins also get decent amount of attack based on how much elemental mastery he has.

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (5-star)

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear comes next, as it provides Crit Rate and Attack, which are his top stat priorities. At R1, PJWS grants 22% Crit Rate and up to 22.4% Attack at max stacks. Reaching maximum stacks provides a further damage bonus, which Flins can achieve with ease.

Staff of Homa (5-star)

Assuming the player already has enough Crit Rate and Elemental Mastery, they can opt for the Staff of Homa instead. Staff of Homa provides 66% Crit Damage along with an Attack bonus based on Flins’ HP.

Best Flins teams

The best teams for Flins revolve around the Lunar-Charged reaction, so his ideal teammates are Hydro or Electro units, along with appropriate support characters.

Flins, Ineffa, Aino, Sucrose

Flins’ kit centers around the Lunar-Charged reaction, and lucky for him, Genshin Impact already happens to have a Lunar-Charged support from Nod-Krai. Ineffa is Flins’ prime support. Not only can she activate the Moonsign Ascendant Gleam, but she can also provide shields and an EM buff.

Slot in C6 Aino for Lunar-Charged damage increase and Hydro application, and Xilonen for healing and damage buffs.

Flins, Ineffa, Furina/Yelan, Sucrose

Another variant of the Flins–Ineffa team involves using any off-field Hydro applicator and a flex support. For the Hydro applicator, this can be Furina, who provides damage, healing, a damage buff, and the Marechaussee Hunter effect. Yelan is also a fine choice, providing a strong damage buff. Sucrose can round out the team by rounding up enemies with her burst while also providing EM buffs.

Flins, Aino, Ororon, sucrose

Players who don’t have Ineffa might wonder what other options they have. Several 4-star units can gamely round out a functional free-to-play team led by Flins. Take a few members from the classic Taser teams, such as Ororon or Fischl, add Sucrose, then slot in Aino alongside Flins.
