Deluxe Pack ex brings back some of the best and rarest ex cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket, as well as a new rare card to pull.
Ex cards are some of the best competitive cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket. They usually have higher HP and deal more damage per turn, making them hard to knock out while also being great attackers. However, ex cards are typically much more rare in a set than are basic cards.
Deluxe Pack ex has 379 cards, including parallel foils, and tons of ex cards for players to collect. Some of those cards stand out as rarer pulls than others.
What is the rarest card from Deluxe Pack ex?
Deluxe Pack ex reveals a new gold crown rare candy card as the rarest card in the Pokemon TCG Pocket set.
While gold crown cards usually have a pull rate of 0.040%, the gold crown rare candy card is much more common in the set with a pull rate of 0.198%. It also only has the probability of appearing as the third included card. The fourth is guaranteed to be a four-diamond ex card, according to the offering rates page in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Rare candy is considered by many to be a highly competitive card in the meta. It allows a player to skip past the middle evolution of any Pokemon line and go straight to its most powerful final card. This is key for set-ups like a Charizard ex or Primarina ex deck that relies on dealing massive damage with a Stage 2 evolution ex card.
More rare cards in Deluxe Pack ex
While the cards themselves are the same, Deluxe Pack ex introduces new rare art cards that players will want to chase down.
Deluxe Pack has a number of other rare cards in the already massive set to pull for. These include one new immersive rare design, two new shiny cards, and 16 two star art cards. As with the rest of the booster set, all of the Pokemon themselves are from previous collections. The new art, however, is what makes these new and rare cards so desirable.

Pikachu receives its second immersive rare with the move set from Genetic Apex. The card also features Mewtwo and Charizard, which were the other immersive rare cards from the previously mentioned set. Giratina ex and Darkrai ex from Triumphant Light and Space-Time Smackdown, respectively, get the two shiny cards. The rest of the two-star chase cards from Deluxe Pack ex include:
- Buzzwole ex
- Charizard ex
- Ho-Oh ex
- Palkia ex
- Pikachu ex
- Mewtwo ex
- Mew ex
- Lunala ex
- Dialga ex
- Solgaleo ex
- Eevee ex
- Lugia ex
- Arceus ex
- Professor’s Research
- Lillie
- Lusamine
Like the gold crown rare candy card, the rarest cards in Deluxe Pack ex are available mainly as the third included card in a given booster pack. Each of the two-star cards has a 0.156% pull rate, the shiny cards have an 0.833% pull rate each, and the odds of getting the immersive rare Pikachu are 1.111%. All around, the odds of pulling a rare card are more likely now than ever.
With over 350 cards to pull from, players may have a difficult time getting the rarest cards they actually want in Deluxe Pack ex. The only way to get them is by opening packs, spending hourglasses, or saving up pack points.
