Before pulling for Xilonen in Genshin Impact, it’s a good idea to gather her ascension and talent materials in advance to make sure she’s battle-ready.
Xilonen could easily be one of the most popular Geo characters right now, and she’s not even out yet. She quickly pulled people in during Natlan’s Ignition teaser, and her recent drip marketing hasn’t hurt matters. With leaks of her kit surfacing ahead of her launch in 5.1, more players have found themselves saving up their Primogems and Intertwined Fates for the Geo “waifu.” Xilonen might not be the type to one-shot enemies, but she’s great at helping others do so.
The upcoming Geo unit is a versatile one that can debuff opponents, heal allies, or even take on the role of the team’s main DPS. But no matter which playstyle players go for, the focus should be on leveling her up first. Listed down below are all of Xilonen materials in Genshin Impact, and the best ways to get them.

How and where to farm Xilonen ascension materials
Players will need to make their way around Natlan in order to farm Xilonen’s ascension materials.
Brilliant Chrysanthenum, described as a flower with the shape of flowing wings, can be collected solely in Natlan, particularly around Huitzli Hill, and Stadium of Sacred Flame regions. They’re often found near bodies of water. Players can use Natlan characters with local specialty passives like five-star character Mualani and Kachina to quickly find them.
Note that there are only 71 Brilliant Chrysanthenums inside Natlan. Since they only respawn every two days, it will take an entire week to collect enough to max out Xilonen. However, for those committed to leveling her up to 90, visiting another player’s world to farm them is an option. Alternatively, players can purchase Brilliant Chrysanthemum Seeds and plant them in their teapot. After waiting 70 hours, they can be harvested.
Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle are materials used to level up Xilonen and enhance her talents. These items are dropped by Sauroform Tribal Warriors, which players can only encounter in the region of Natlan.
On the flip side, the Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Core comes from the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device boss, found in the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. Just take down the boss, spend 40 resin, and players will get two to three pieces of the Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Core as a reward.
All materials needed to max Xilonen’s talents in Genshin Impact
On the other hand, Xilonen’s talents can be upgraded to level 10 upon collecting Teachings of Kindling, Guide to Kindling, Philosophies of Kinding, Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, Warrior’s Metal Whistle, Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, Mirror of Mushin and Crown of Insight.
This only covers one talent, and every player will need three times that amount to max out all her talents. As for Xilonen, it is recommended to allocate materials to her elemental skill and elemental burst when using her as a support. The normal attack can be ignored unless she is deployed as the main DPS.
Here are all the materials Xilonen needs for every talent ascension level:
- Level 2: 3 Teachings of Kindling, 6 Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, and 12,500 Mora
- Level 3: 2 Guide to Kindling, 3 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 17,500 Mora
- Level 4: 4 Guide to Kindling, 4 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 25,000 Mora
- Level 5: 6 Guide to Kindling, 6 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 30,000 Mora
- Level 6: 9 Guide to Kindling, 9 Warrior’s Metal Whistle, and 37,500 Mora
- Level 7: 4 Philosophies of Kindling, 4 Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, 1 Mirror of Mushin, and 120,000 Mora
- Level 8: 6 Philosophies of Kindling, 6 Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, 1 Mirror of Mushin, and 260,000 Mora
- Level 9: 12 Philosophies of Kindling, 9 Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, 2 Mirror of Mushin, and 450,000 Mora
- Level 10: 16 Philosophies of Kindling, 12 Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle, 2 Mirror of Mushin, 1 Crown of Insight, and 700,000 Mora
Where to get Xilonen talent materials
As with her ascension materials, Xilonen’s talent materials are largely found dotted around Natlan.
The Kindlings series is one of the talent book sets available in Genshin Impact. While players can obtain them through the Parametric Transformer or events, the most reliable method is by entering domains. Specifically, to get the Kindlings series, players need to enter the Blazing Ruins domain in Natlan on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Each run consumes 20 resin and provides varying numbers of talent books depending on the level.
Although Xilonen is a Natlan character with almost all her materials coming from that region, there’s one material she can only get from the nearby region of Sumeru. The Mirror of Mushin is acquired from the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom or the Scaramouche boss. To defeat this boss, players need to enter the Joururi Workshop domain in Chinvat Ravine, Sumeru.
The last on the list of Xilonen materials is the Crown of Insight. Crown of Insight is the very last item needed to enhance talent level from 9 to 10. Given how important it is, it makes sense that it’s among the rarest items in the game. To date, only around 50 pieces of the Crown of Insight have been distributed. Players can obtain them by participating in flagship events or by submitting items found through exploration to various Offering Systems. This includes the Frostbearing Tree’s Gratitude, Sacred Sakura’s Favor, and Tona’s Flame’s Restitution.
