Ranged character fans may now rejoice as Chasca has officially arrived in Genshin Impact, and knowing the best weapon and artifact build for her may bring out her full potential as an offensive powerhouse.
Chasca is not just an ordinary character. She is the new five-star Anemo banner character for update 5.2 who has a rich, yet tricky history for her lore. Chasca is dubbed as the most infamous Peacemaker of the Flower-Feather Clan. She stands out in combat because of her potential to become a ranged beast who takes advantage of the Nightsoul mechanic that allows characters from Natlan to become stronger than ever.
Moreover, she can deal a ton of elemental damage because of her elemental conversion. Players can only grasp Chasca’s full potential as a main DPS unit by knowing the best build guide for her.

How to play Chasca in Genshin Impact
Chasca is best played as a main DPS unit of a Genshin Impact team. Her offensive prowess mainly relies on dealing elemental damage from her skill which is deeply rooted with Chasca entering the Nightsoul Blessing state, as well as coming up with a multi-element team to maximize her damage potential. This means that Chasca can trigger elemental reactions on her own.
Chasca’s elemental skill called Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt lets her summon a hand cannon that can fire damage to enemies, as well as giving her 80 Nightsoul Points which can lead to her entering the Nightsoul Blessing state. Once she enters this, Chasca gains movement speed and interruption resistance. She can also deploy Multitarget Fire which deals Anemo-type damage to Front enemies when it is tapped. Just be careful about where she will be placed in combat since the bullets split accordingly when targeted to multiple enemies which can distribute but also lower her damage output.
When the hold option is used for her elemental skill, Chasca will enter the aiming mode and will choose a certain number of enemies within range. It will also let her load up to six Shadowhunt Shells which can be fired to enemies. The last three Shells will have elemental conversion depending on the elements of her other teammates but mainly cater to Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro. For each of the unique elements, one bullet will be converted to Shining Shadowhunt Shell which can deal more damage. That is why putting Chasca in a multi-element team is recommended since it is the best way to increase her damage.
This is also the case for her elemental burst known as Soul Reaper’s Fatal Round but is a stronger version since it lets Chasca fire a Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell that deals Nightsoul-aligned AoE damage. It will also split into six Soulseeker Shells and two of those will also undergo elemental conversions. As for upgrades, leveling up Chasca to at least C2 would be recommended to greatly increase her offensive stats and damage output.
All the best Chasca artifact build and sets
The best artifact build for Chasca is the four-piece Obsidian Codex set because of her Nightsoul mechanic. But if players can’t complete it in the meantime, other options can still be useful to make Chasca more powerful.
The four-piece Obisidian Codex is the go-to artifact build for Chasca and any other character from Natlan who is capable of the Nightsoul mechanic. Using two pieces of these already buffs its user’s damage output by 15 percent. Upping it to four pieces can make the user an offensive juggernaut.
The four-piece Obsidian Codex can generate an additional critical strike chance rate of 40 percent for six seconds which can be triggered once every second. This is a powerful boost for Chasca as her damage output already has the potential to become bigger by just using her own abilities. But with the four-piece Obsidian Codex, the critical strike chances can take her power to another level.
If the four-piece Obsidian Codex still can’t be completed, the next best artifact option for Chasca is the four-piece Viridescent Venerer. By using this, it can increase the Swirl damage of Chasca by 60 percent, as well as decrease the opponent’s elemental resistance to the element where the Swirl was infused by 40 percent for 10 seconds. This can be huge for Chasca since she can trigger Swirl quickly with her skill.
The best weapons for Chasca in Genshin Impact
Of course, the best weapon for Chasca is her signature bow Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage. There are alternatives, however, if players still won’t be able to pull it anytime soon.
The five-star Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage is the best weapon for Chasca. Not just that it is her signature weapon, but this allows Chasca to gain a bonus critical strike damage stat of 66.2 percent.
The Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage also lets Chasca make the most out of her ability to trigger Swirl by increasing her attack by 24 percent for 12 seconds after the elemental reaction was triggered. Additionally, a bonus damage buff of 20 percent and 48 percent to Chasca’s charged attack and 10 percent and 24 percent to her elemental burst will be granted if one-half or more of the team members have different elements.
If players can’t manage to pull the Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage yet, equipping the Aqua Simulacra to Chasca is the next best option. It grants her an additional 16 percent HP and 88.2 percent of critical strike damage as its bonus stat. Chasca’s damage also increases by 20 percent when there are opponents nearby.
Best compositions for Chasca
The best team where Chasca can be used is a rainbow team where all characters have different elements. Here’s an example of a premium team to take full advantage of Chasca.
- Chasca
- Ororon
- Furina
- Bennett
This team focuses on creating heavy elemental damage with Chasca as the main DPS unit. Ororon, the new four-star character in update 5.2, helps in following up on the damage output because of his Electro-damage skills that can disrupt enemies. Furina is also there as a reliable damage dealer, while Bennett’s healing and additional damage contributions are useful to maintain the balance of offense and defense in the team while also providing Pyro-type damage.
For free-to-play players, here’s another rainbow team for Chasca featuring only four-star characters.
- Chasca
- Ororon
- Diona
- Thoma
Chasca and Ororon retain their roles for the team above, while Diona is a great alternative for Furina in terms of dealing follow-up damage, especially for F2P players, as well as dealing Cryo-type damage instead of Hydro that can help slow down enemies. Replacing Bennett with Thoma is also an option here since he can provide shields to protect Chasca for as long as possible.
With the right build and teams, Chasca can become a top-tier DPS character ready to take on the Spiral Abyss.
