Genshin Impact: Are sites like LootBar legit & can they you get banned?

Websites like LootBar and LDShop can make HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact a bit more affordable, but are they legit and do they carry the risk of getting banned?

Gacha games are fun, but they can also be extremely expensive. What’s more, most of them obfuscate how much you’re actually spending on them while offering no ability to set limits. It’s easy to fall into a bad habit too, as rerolling in Genshin Impact isn’t easy.

For casual players, third-party storefronts are a great way to save some cash. For degenerates, they can save a lot of cash. But are these sites actually legit? And are there any risks attached to them? Here’s what users and HoYoverse have to say.

Is LootBar legit for topping up in Genshin Impact?

Users report that websites such as LootBar and LDShop are legitimate options for topping up in Genshin Impact. However, there are many similar sites that may or may not be legitimate.

These third-party storefronts offer the ability to purchase in-game currency and resource bundles for a variety of gacha games. For Genshin Impact specifically, these are Genesis Crystals and the Blessing of the Welkin Moon subscription. There are also bundles named specifically for limited five-star characters, though these are not actually specific to these characters. Instead, they are simply bundles that offer enough Genesis Crystals for the pulls necessary to reach a pity five-star twice.

Testimonials from Genshin Impact players generally paint a positive picture regarding LootBar and LDShop. The discounted prices are the highlight and the process for purchasing resources is generally smooth.

The main hiccup users report is that the delivery of purchases can be slow in some cases. While the turnaround is usually quick, slowdowns can reportedly accompany major game updates.

Can you get banned for using LootBar or LDShop in Genshin Impact?

HoYoverse states that purchases through LootBar, LDShop, and similar services can result in a ban from Genshin Impact and other games. While the stores themselves say that they are completely safe and carry no risk of a ban, the publisher says otherwise.

When asked by gameland.gg about these services, a HoYoverse representative stated that “using unauthorized third-party top-up services is strictly against our Terms of Service and can result in account suspension or a permanent ban.” This is meant to “protect the game’s integrity and player security.”

While it may be against the terms of service, there are effectively no reports from users of being banned from Genshin Impact for using LootBar, LDShop, or similar storefronts. Similarly, users from Europe and North America report being able to use VPNs with impunity to purchase Genesis Crystals at a lower price.

Though the official line may be that this is a bannable offense, there is little sign of HoYoverse actually enforcing it. Should HoYoverse begin enforcing this policy, it’s possible players will be given advanced warning.

The one major concern for Genshin Impact players when it comes to these websites is that HoYoverse will not help should payment disputes arise. Though LootBar and LDShop have generally strong reputations, that’s not the case with all their alternatives. If a dispute arises, HoYoverse will not offer any support in resolving it.
