After months of building hype, League of Legends is finally releasing T1’s 2023 Worlds Championship skins in-game. and for comparatively a reasonable price.
T1 dominated the 2023 World Championships, seven years removed from its last victory. It was the organization’s fourth championship. To commemorate that win, Riot Games announced that each player on the Korean esports team would get to pick a champion to receive a special edition skin.
Given that Worlds ended in November 2023, fans have been eagerly waiting for when the T1 skins would drop. The wait may be over soon, as Riot released a short first look at the T1 Worlds Winners skins. Here’s what players can look forward to
T1’s Worlds 2023 Winner champions skins include Faker’s Orianna, Jinx, and more
Riot Games is releasing five new T1 Worlds Winner skins, one for each member of T1, for a champion of their choosing.
In addition to just the skins, each T1 Worlds champion will also get unique visuals and recall animations. Here’s every member of the 2023 T1 Worlds roster, the champion their skin is for, and what makes it unique:
- Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong: Jinx, with an animation featuring Gumayusi’s dog, Doongi
- Choi “Zeus” Woo-je: Jayce, who has five crowns to represent T1’s five times being runner-up
- Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok: Orianna, with four stars for Faker’s four Worlds wins
- Ryu “Keria” Min-seok: Bard, holding Lux as an homage to his original champion pick
- Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon: Lee Sin, mimicking Oner’s jacket and signature pose
T1 team members seemed to mainly choose their champion based on who they main in game, though Faker had a slightly more difficult choice to make. He already has several Riot-made skins including Ahri, Syndra, and LeBlanc.
T1 Worlds 2023 championship skins release date with patch 14.16
T1’s Worlds 2023 championship skins will be released on August 14 alongside patch 14.16. Patch 14.16 brings other big updates including a new mythic shop skin rotation and the beginning of the end for Swarm.
Players can anticipate being able to get the T1’s World Winner skins with patch 14.16 and with a modest amount of RP rather than hard cash.
Notably, none of the skins will cost nearly as much as Faker’s 59,260 RP Ahri skin, which is the equivalent of $400. Because the skins have new visuals and recalls, players will likely be able to find World Winner Orianna, Bard, and others for 1,350 RP. Jayce will also get a Prestige skin.
Given that Worlds Winner Jayce is listed as being in the mythic shop on August 14, it’s a safe bet that the rest of the TI champion skins will be available then, too.
