With Hellblade 2 coming out soon, the game’s system requirements have been revealed and some fans might have to make some system upgrades to run it.
Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2’s release date continues to creep closer, with fans of the first game now anxiously awaiting it. However, while many gameplay clips and story elements were revealed, fans didn’t know how powerful their systems would need to be to run Hellblade 2, until now. Alongside Hellblade 2’s pre-orders going live, developer Ninja Theory shared the game’s system requirements for players opting to play the upcoming title on their PCs or laptops.
Coupled with the details fans know about Hellblade 2’s length, players know how much time they’ll have to free on their schedules when the game drops. While players don’t need to have a cutting-edge rig to play the game on PC, it won’t run on just anything.
Hellblade 2 system requirements
Ninja Theory shared the system requirements for Hellblade 2, and it looks like PC players will need a rather high-spec system to run it properly. Here’s the full breakdown:
Graphics Preset | Low @ 1080p | Medium @ 1080p | High @ 1440p | High @ 4k |
CPU | Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel i5-9600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | Intel i7-10700k or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Intel i5-12600k, or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X |
GPU | Nvidia GTX 1070, or AMD RX 5700, or Intel Arc A580 | Nvidia RTX 2070, or AMD RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A580 | Nvidia RTX 3080, AMD RX 6800XT, or Intel Arc A770. | Nvidia RTX 4080 or AMD RX 7900 XTX |
VRAM | 6 GB | 8 GB | 8 GB | 12 GB |
RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB |
Storage | 70 GB SSD | 70 GB SSD | 70 GB SSD | 70 GB SSD |
Operation System | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64 bit |
While the official requirements reveal what resolution and preset these specifications will run, it doesn’t show what framerates these yield. All the presets shown will probably target 60fps, except for the minimum requirements, which will go for 30fps.
The game also includes upscaling and frame generation features such as DLSS 3, FSR 3, and XESS 1.3, so players with a weaker system can increase their framerate. However, DLSS 3 will only work on Nvidia RTX 40 Series GPUs as it’s an exclusive technology.
How long is Hellblade 2?
According to Ninja Theory studio head Dominic Matthews, the upcoming Hellblade 2 will be around eight hours long.
In an official Xbox Wire blog, Ninja Theory shared that Hellblade 2’s length will be similar to the first Hellblade. The original title was around 8 hours long, which means Hellblade 2 will likely take around that time to complete.
Despite Hellblade 2 being short by today’s standards, the game still takes up 70GB of storage space according to the system requirements. The reason behind so much storage is probably because of Unreal Engine 5’s lumen lighting and the resolution of textures it uses. That number may also grow over time, as DLC and updates come out.
