Princess Peach: Showtime is set to be defined by the transformations of its lead character and there are plenty to look forward to.
Nintendo is seemingly focusing on Mario spinoff games for what is probably the final year of the Switch being the company’s primary console, which is seen in Mario vs Donkey Kong and Princess Peach: Showtime being among the biggest releases slated for 2024. The game is a puzzle platformer centered around the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach. With the game’s release date quickly approaching, Nintendo has given fans much information on it.
One of the main features of Princess Peach: Showtime is its transformations, and the new trailer revealed more of them for the character. Alongside giving players a total list of forms Peach can transform into, Nintendo has also revealed the release date for the game.
How many transformations does Peach have in Princess Peach: Showtime
So far, Nintendo has revealed a total of 10 transformations in Princess Peach: Showtime.
It’s unknown if Nintendo will add more transformations to the game, either as secret unlocks or future DLCs. The full list of confirmed Peach transformations is as follows:
- Swordfighter Peach
- Detective Peach
- Patissier Peach
- Kung Fu Peach
- Ninja Peach
- Cowgirl Peach
- Figure Skater Peach
- Dashing Thief Peach
- Mermaid Peach
- Mighty Peach
Each of these transformations has a unique characteristic that changes the game’s mechanics, such as Swordfighter Peach and Kung Fu Peach having combat abilities and Detective Peach having exploration traits.
Nintendo has not disclosed how players will unlock new transformations for Peach, although the trailers suggest that different stages will have Peach take on different transformations. Figure Skater Peach’s reveal shows a skating stage, while Mermaid Peach has an underwater stage.
The game has Peach go out to save the Sparkle Theater from the Wicked Grape. With the help of the Theater’s Guardian Stella, she can change into different forms based on the stage production, with these transformations giving Princess Peach different powers and abilities.
Princess Peach: Showtime release date confirmed
Princess Peach: Showtime is scheduled to release on March 22, 2024.
As for what platforms the game is coming out on, it is exclusively available for the Nintendo Switch for pre-orders digitally and physically for $59.99. Princess Peach: Showtime might also be playable on the Switch’s successor, according to leaks regarding the upcoming console’s backwards compatibility.
Princess Peach: Showtime is the only original first-party game left on the Nintendo Switch‘s lineup of upcoming games. All other major releases are remakes or remasters, though there are a select few confirmed third-party releases such as Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The only other notable confirmed first-party game from Nintendo that is unaccounted for is a new Metroid Prime game, which has been in the works from Retro Studios since 2019.
