Arcane Season 1 had eight different League heroes taking center stage, but new champions are entering the ring in Season 2.
One of Arcane’s greatest appeals to gamers is that it includes several different League of Legends champions and highlights where they come from. While many are introduced at an early stage of their life, fans can see how they’ve changed to become the champions they’re familiar with. The new Arcane Season 2 leaks show more champions joining the cast, potentially adding to their original storylines.
Here are the new champions from the Arcane Season 2 leaks, ranging in role from major to bit to still under speculation. Warning, spoilers ahead.
All the new champions confirmed for Arcane Season 2
LoL champion Warwick is the biggest addition to the Arcane cast, though champions such as LeBlanc could be inbound, too. Alongside the actual additions to the cast are nods or references to other champions. Here’s the full lineup of confirmed and likely additions to the cast.
Warwick confirmed for Arcane Season 2
A previously hinted-at new champion, Warwick debuts in the last few minutes of episode 1 of the Season 2 leaks and wreaks havoc from then on out.
The creators had hinted at Warwick’s addition to Arcane in an earlier teaser video, but the backstory and story role for the champion have been confirmed through Season 2’s leaks. He maintains his original background as a Zaunite experiment who bursts from the shadows and goes for the kill. However, Arcane Season 2 adds a new twist.
After the explosion that “killed” Vander in Season 1, mad scientist Singed rescued his body and revived him as part of his quest to bring his daughter back to life. However, the process seemed to drive him mad. Only Jinx and Vi are able to pull out the humanity in their adopted father.
Season 2 leaks contain playful nods to Kog’Maw and Skarner
Kog’Maw and Skarner don’t play any sort of major role in Arcane Season 2 are referenced during the show.
During her “Jinx is dead” era, the not-dead Jinx and her new surrogate little sister decide to make bugs battle during a musical segment set to Britney Spears’ “Toxic.” The bugs are called Stink’Maw and Scuttle-butt, seemingly references to Kog’Maw and Skarner, respectively. Although their screen time is brief, the new champions in the Arcane Season 2 leaks are a moment of levity in a dark few episodes.
Interestingly, a hextech form of Kog’Maw predates Arcane. According to official lore, Kog’Maw is a technnologically-altered pet for the wealthy rather than a Zaunite bug. This is also far from the first time the cosmic horror has been an insect.
LeBlanc is an anticipated new champion for the last four episodes
While LeBlanc didn’t appear on-screen in leaked episodes, the introduction of the Black Rose implies her in-universe existence.
The Arcane Season 2 leaks show Ambessa wielding the power of the Black Rose to the detriment of those around her. Additionally, there seems to be a voice behind the dark energy that hints at a greater being at work. Given her original founding of the Black Rose, LeBlanc is the most likely candidate to be the related new champion in Arcane. However, other more modern Black Rose champions like Elise or Cassiopeia could end up appearing instead.
Because she isn’t officially introduced in the first five episodes, fans will have to wait until November to see if LeBlanc and other new champions join the cast of Arcane Season 2. The last four episodes will wrap up the series entirely, and the writers and developers are sure to have a lot of surprises in store.
