There’s been a revival for Fallout 4 since the live-action show came out and fans have been awaiting Fallout: London’s release, but installing the mod is a bit of a challenge.

But after the popular Fallout TV show came out, a lot of gamers have decided to give Fallout 4 another shot. After all, it’s Fallout 4, Fallout 76, or waiting a very long time for Fallout 5.
With so many people picking up Fallout 4 again, veteran players been desperate for new content. Now, there’s a fan-made expansion mod called Fallout: London that, once installed, takes Fallout 4 from Boston to the United Kingdom. Here’s a complete guide on how to install it.
How to install the Fallout: London mod for Fallout 4 through GOG or Steam
In order to play the Fallout: London mode for Fallout 4, players will need to purchase Fallout 4 and all of its DLC packs, downgrade their version of the game, download the mod, and install it. It’s a lengthy process, but the scope of the mod makes it worth undertaking for fans looking to overhaul their experience.
The first step is easy enough, with players needing Fallout 4 and all of its DLC packs. Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition includes all of this. For players who have already purchased bits and pieces of the game, here’s everything needed:

It is highly recommended that players purchase Fallout 4 on GOG rather than Steam if they are looking to play Fallout: London.
The Fallout: London mod is available to download from GOG using the GOG Galaxy launcher. Players will need to create a GOG account, search for Fallout: London, then download it from the library.
If a player already owns Fallout 4 on Steam, they are required to downgrade the game to an older version. This is required to make it compatible with the mod.
How to downgrade Fallout 4 on Steam
Players can downgrade their Steam version of Fallout 4 to play the Fallout: London mod using a downgrader modding tool.
On Steam, Fallout fans will have to access the 1.10.163.0 version of Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition. Making it compatible with the mod will require players to downgrade it. This can be done by using the FOLON Downgrader Tool from Nexus Mods.
Once the game is downloaded, run the Fallout London Downgrader app. Log into a Steam account so the downgrader can access the older version and install the patch. Once logged in, the downgrader will install the correct version of Fallout 4.
How to install Fallout: London
Players can download and install Fallout: London through GOG. Once Fallout 4 and its mods are downgraded on either Steam or GOG, the modded version of the game can be booted without issue.
Once Fallout 4 is installed and downgraded, go back into GOG and download Fallout: London. From there, press “Play” in the installer and it should automatically detect Fallout 4 in the Steam install folder.
Once the install is done, players can launch Fallout: London from within GOG. It will act like a standalone game, allowing gamers to interact with the game inside this window. There is an estimated 90 hours of gameplay in the Fallout: London mod, including all the usual exploration, irradiated creatures, and glitches fans have grown hungry for. Unfortunately, that’s the closest they’ll get to a new Fallout game for a long while.
