A remaster of 2009’s Tales of Graces, dubbed Tales of Graces f, has been revealed and fans will want to know what’s new, what’s being changed, and its release date.
The August 27, 2024, Nintendo Direct Indie and Partner Showcase event was a feast for Nintendo JRPG fans. From a remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st to more details for Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster, those who kept their expectations in check, and didn’t expect information about Hollow Knight: Silksong, were likely left satisfied.
Additionally, the Nintendo Direct announced a remaster of the 2009 classic Tales of Graces. Since the remaster retains the “f” from the 2010 PS3 port, fans of the series new and old will want to learn what additions they can expect from the remaster.
What’s new in Tales of Graces f Remastered?
The Tales of Graces f remaster has revamped visuals and multiple quality-of-life improvements.
The QOL improvements include the addition of auto-save and the ability to turn off enemy encounters in fields and dungeons. The remaster also has destination icons to make navigating the world a bit easier. The Grade Store is also set to return. Fans of the Tales of series will likely be familiar with the Grade Store where players utilize grade points earned from participating in battles and completing the game for bonuses.
While unconfirmed, Tales of Graces f Remastered will likely retain the accelerate mode that only the PS3 port has.
One thing that’s almost certainly being removed is the licensed DLC costumes. This includes the Code Geass and Hatsune Miku costumes. However, Tales of Graces f Remastered will come with the original DLC and the Lineage and Legacies after-story.
Tales of Graces f release date
Tales of Graces f will release on January 17, 2025, for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via Steam.
Producer Yuusuke Tomizawa stated the idea of remastering Tales of Graces f originated from an event dedicated to the game in 2019. Multiple fans asked for a remastered version of the game and Bandai Namco is delivering.
The producer also stated the remaster is the first of many announcements to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary. Players can likely expect more announcements as December 15, 2024, comes closer since that’ll make the 30th anniversary of Tales of Fantasia.
