Review copies of Star Wars Outlaws are already in the hands of journalists and content creators, and that means we’re very close to when the Star Wars Outlaws review embargo will be lifting.

Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming Ubisoft game featuring leading character Kay Vess, described as a “resourceful underdog.” It will be the first AAA Star Wars game developed by Ubisoft. Previously, the French publisher only handled smaller-scaled portable Star Wars games.

With the excellent Star Wars Jedi series put on ice as its director leaves EA, Ubisoft has a big opportunity to shine. A lrge open-world Star Wars game featuring multiple planets and space travel? That’s a recipe that can get any sci-fi fan excited. Naturally, fans are eager to know when the Star Wars Outlaws review embargo is lifting and when they can expect to learn how the game measures up with critics.

When will Star Wars Outlaws review embargo lift?

The Star Wars Outlaws review embargo is reportedly set to lift on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Journalist Jordan Middler confirmed on Twitter that he is reviewing Star Wars Outlaws. He clarified that fans can expect his review on Monday, 26th, at 1 p.m. UK time (8 a.m. EST, 12 p.m. GMT), which is when the embargo should be lifting.

The Star Wars Outlaws review embargo is being lifted just a day before early access to the game starts. The game has multiple editions available, with the expensive Ultimate and Gold Editions giving three days of early access. With the official release date set to August 30, 2024, there is a four-day gap between the review drop and the game’s official release.

How big is Star Wars Outlaws?

Star Wars Outlaws is a reasonably big game, and is reportedly 25 to 30 hours long if players make a beeline through the main campaign.

Star Wars Outlaws’ creative director Julian Gerighty explained that a completionist run would take around 50 to 60 hours. Compared to other Ubisoft open-world games, Star Wars Outlaws is apparently much shorter. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the last full-priced open-world game from Ubisoft, takes around 60 hours for the main campaign alone.

The new game also features multiple planets. Each of the planets has a unique biome for players to explore. With five confirmed planets in the game, players will have a good variety of environments to roam around in as they make their way through the campaign.
