College Football 25 is now available to play, even though its release date isn’t actually here quite yet.

Sports fans nationwide have eagerly anticipated the release of EA Sports’ College Football 25, the first edition of the company’s collegiate video game in over a decade. For many, July 15 is the date circled in red, although not everyone will get to experience it this early. Availability depends on the version of the game that was pre-ordered.

That makes it worth breaking down who can play the game and when it’s available for all. Tied into that is what each edition of the game has to offer.

What is the College Football 25 release date?

College Football 25 launches for everyone on July 19, 2024, but those who pre-ordered the game’s pricier editions will get early access starting July 16.

Early access opened for download on July 15 at 4 pm ET or 1 pm PT, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, this is reserved exclusively for individuals who purchased the game’s Deluxe Edition, the MVP Bundle with Madden 25, or those with an EA Play subscription. Those who pre-order those special editions or sign up for EA Play after July 15 will be able to download, install, and play the game during the early access period.

College Football 25 was boasting electrifying player counts even before its release date. At one point, over 700,000 people were playing the game during early access according to the in-game player count display.

Those who only pre-ordered the normal edition of the game will have to wait until July 19 to start playing.

The deluxe edition offers three-day early access from July 16 to 18. It also adds 4,600 College Football Points, the new in-game currency for the game, and an Ultimate Alumni Pack.

Meanwhile, there is also an MVP Bundle of the game that packages it with Madden 25 alongside extra goodies for both titles.

The MVP Bundle includes the following items:

  • College Football 25
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Three-day early access to College Football 25 (July 16-18)
  • Three-day early access to Madden 25 (August 13-15)

The Elite Player item is exclusively available in the MVP bundle, while the XP boost and Superstar Drip Gear are exclusive to the console versions of the game. The bundle does offer some savings to those who would have purchased the deluxe editions of both games.
