Twitch’s most-subscribed streamer Kai Cenat stated in a stream that the VShojo vtuber Ironmouse inspired him to donate his Mafiathon 2 earnings.
In October 2024, the vtuber Iromouse broke Kai Cenat’s Twitch subs record and became the most-subscribed Twitch streamer ever. This put vtubers out on a larger scale and gave them a more public presence. However, not everything was positive as man, including some Cenat fans, took to social media to troll Iromouse over the accomplishment.
Kai Cenat defended the vtuber and also promised fans that he’d return with another subathon to reclaim his record. The streamer started his Mafiathon 2 event in November 2024 and became the most-subscribed Twitch streamer once again in just 11 days. After this, the streamer stated on stream that he was inspired by the vtuber Ironmouse and fans want to know what he meant.
Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 donating a portion of Mafiathon 2 earnings, credits Ironmouse
Iromouse donated a portion of her subathon earnings to charity, and Kai Cenat says this inspired him to do the same during Mafiathon 2.
In a stream, Kai Cenat talked about how streamers can help people and that he’ll try to do it more. He stated that he was inspired when he heard the vtuber Ironmouse is doing subathons for a good cause and to help people.
Iromouse’s subathons are, in a sense, done for charity and to raise awareness for the immunodeficiency she suffers from. She donated a 50% of her subathon to the Immune Deficiency Foundation.
Cenat said when he found out about her donating her earnings he decided to do the same, adding that helping his family feels good but helping strangers will be amazing. The streamer didn’t state how much he’ll donate from his earnings. However, when the Mafiathon 2 began, there were reports that he’d be donating 20% of the revenue. The donations will be used to build a school in Makoko, Nigeria.
Cenat’s praise for Ironmouse comes at an awkward time for the vtuber. Despite enjoying unprecedented success through her record-breaking subathon, there was no real opportunity for a victory lap. Many Kai Cenat fans, including several high-profile content creators, criticized Ironmouse’s content, personality, and vtubing as a whole.
The criticism has lingered long past Cenat retaking the record, and advanced to the point where the toxicity was called out by regular Ironmouse collaborator Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun.
For his part, Kai Cenat has been respectful of Ironmouse’s content and accomplishments. Citing her as an inspiration takes things a step further.
