Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date announced

Henry from Kingdom Come Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was long rumored to be released in 2024 but unfortunately for anxious fans, the developers confirmed a delayed release date in 2025.

Thanks to its grounded gameplay and story, the hardcore RPG set in 15th-century Bohemia instantly became a fan favorite. The game’s easy-to-learn but hard-to-master combat, realistic bow-and-arrow shooting, and hard lockpicking made it a blast for diehard RPG fans. The second part, aptly named Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is set on delivering the same code RPG values to the fans.

Henry, the protagonist in the first game, is also returning. Brutal and accurate combat mechanics that require a significant time investment will also make a return. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 remains high on Steam’s wishlisted list despite being delayed.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date

The official Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date is February 11, 2025.

The official game account on X announced the new release date of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The account also acknowledged the long wait, but the developers have plenty of content to show to compensate the fans.

The game will have over 20 minutes of gameplay showcase at Gamescom 2024 later in August. The Collector’s Edition will also be unveiled at the event. The event will also see previews of the game come out from content creators and press in attendance. This will also be the first proper taste of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s performance.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 platforms

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows platforms.

The developers have not announced any plans to release the game on last-generation consoles. The original game, built on CryEngine, struggled to run smoothly on these consoles. Even the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X had trouble keeping a stable frame rate, especially inside the cities.

The developer, Warhorse Studios, didn’t announce why the game will be released in 2025. Previously, developers blamed the Xbox Series S for delays, the biggest being Baldur’s Gate 3. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s game producer Martin Kilma confirmed that the Series S is responsible for the 30 FPS lock and hindered scope of the title.
