A data miner has allegedly found evidence of all the upcoming Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC characters.
Developer Bandai Namco revealed Eddy Gordo as the first character for Season 1 DLC in January 2024. Eddy, who has appeared in every Tekken game since his debut, came as no surprise to veteran fans of the franchise. Bandai Namco also confirmed that three other mystery characters would be part of the Season 1 DLC.
Fans immediately speculated on who would be next. Popular suggestions included Armor King and Bob, but there’s no evidence they are part of the Season 1 DLC. Instead, a data miner has allegedly found evidence in the game’s code that reveals exactly who the Season 1 DLC will be.
Who are the characters that might come to Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC?
Lidia, Marduk, and Fahkumram will allegedly join Tekken 8’s Season 1 DLC list. A data mine by the handle “@shootmans” used the program “Cheat Engine” to look deeper into the game’s files. The user had previously found evidence of Steve, Raven, and Zafina in Tekken 8 before their official reveal trailers. It’s through Cheat Engine that they have now reportedly found evidence of Lidia, Marduk, and Fahkumram for Season 1.
The data alluded to these characters via their countries of origin. Poland, Australia, and Thailand fit the bill for the three characters. These three characters were all part of Tekken 7’s roster. Lidia and Fakhumram were both DLC characters in the previous game. Fans privy to these leaks expressed disappointment that these Tekken 7 alumni weren’t already part of the game’s base roster, instead again being used as paid DLC additions.
Will Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC have guest characters?
Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC has no officially confirmed guest characters, and leaks suggest there won’t yet be any. If the Cheat Engine leaks end up true, then that likely means Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC will not feature any guest characters. Tekken 8 game director Katsuhiro Harada previously stated that guest characters were not a priority for Tekken 8’s early DLC cycle, meaning that guest characters may be more likely to appear in later DLC seasons.
Tekken 7 famously featured the most guest characters of any Tekken game to date. Harada’s statements imply that the focus will be on Tekken 8’s homegrown characters for now. Even so, Harada didn’t rule out the possibility of guest characters in the future. Just don’t expect them in this first batch of DLC content.
