Lies of P DLC release date revealed, here’s what we know

Lies of P DLC

Developer Round 8 announced a release date for the first Lies of P DLC, and it’s coming very soon.

In a sea of countless soulslikes, Lies of P stood out with its grim fairy tale aesthetic and fascinating take on the Pinnochio story.  The game had all the hallmarks of a classic soulslike, from brooding and twisted levels to tough-as-nails enemies. With over a million copies in less than a week, Lies of P showcased that soulslikes aren’t going anywhere.

Round 8 followed up that success with an upcoming DLC. Details about its development have been sparse throughout 2024, yet fans are more than willing to wait given the game’s quality. Shadow of the Erdtree was a massive success, and it was released two years after Elden Ring. After a long wait, Round 8 finally announced a release date for the first Lies of P DLC.

When is the release date of Lies of P DLC?

Round 8 will reportedly release the Lies of P DLC sometime in Q1 2025. A report from EBN stated that Round 8 will release Lies of P DLC in the first quarter of next year.  The studio previously teased the DLC through concept art, which sent fans buzzing with theories.

The images of Pinocchio on a pirate ship and a beachside town led fans to theorize a potential pirate theme for the DLC. Given the world’s dark takes on fairy tales, some speculated Peter Pan could play a major role in the expansion. Peter Pan’s rival, Captain Hook, could lead a cruel crew of pirates to stop Pinocchio from fulfilling his journey.

Others believe it may lead Pinocchio to Pleasure Island. The iconic location from the original novel never appeared in the base game, so it could be a new area to explore. Whatever the setting, most hope for answers to the game’s twist ending. The reveal of the Wizard of Oz storyline is one of the most compelling story threads from the base game. Naturally, fans want to see more.

With a release date of Q1 2025, the Lies of P DLC will start the year strong for video games.

Lies of P developer announced a sci-fi horror game as its next project

Round 8 announced its next project will be a sci-fi survival horror.  In the same EBN report, Round 8 announced its upcoming project. The upcoming survival horror project will release on PC and consoles, and run on Unreal Engine 5. The developers will likely reveal more once the Lies of P DLC has been released.

The studio’s unique take on the soulslike genre made fans want to see the studio tackle the survival horror genre. Other fans were disappointed at the lack of a Lies of P sequel. Thankfully for those fans, the bad feelings likely won’t last once the Lies of P DLC release date arrives.
