Honkai: Star Rail’s 2.4 Special Program went over everything in the next update, including new characters Yunli and Jiaoqiu and its release date.
Honkai: Star Rail version 2.4 will bring the Trailblazer and crew back to the Xianzhou Luofu for the Luminary Combat Arts Ceremony as part of the Wardance. There, they will meet characters from across the galaxy who have come to show off their skills, including a certain general’s granddaughter and a medicinal chef.
This sets the stage for the major content update, which will add everything Honkai: Star Rail fans expect. Naturally, the highlights are the new banners and the fresh faces they bring to the roster.
Yunli and Jiaoqiu’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail revealed
Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 will add new playable characters in Yunli and Jiaoqiu of the Xianzhao Alliance.
Version 2.4 introduces Yunli as a physical-type character on the Path of Destruction, similar to Clara but with a giant sword instead of a giant mech. The granddaughter of General Huiayan, Yunli is well-versed in both sword-forging and sword-fighting. Here are all of Yunli’s abilities:
- Skill: Bloodborne Quake – Yunli heals herself and deals damage to a target enemy and the enemies next to it
- Talent: Flashforge – Yunli counters an attack, dealing damage to the attacker and adjacent enemies
- Technique: Posterior Precedence – If an enemy attacks while this technique is active, Yunli blocks the attack and counters against a random enemy when battle starts
- Ultimate: Earthbind, Etherbreak – Yunli gains the “parry” state, taunting all enemies, reducing her damage taken, and upgrading her counter to a powerful counter
Jiaoqiu trades big swords for spices and alchemy. He’s a fire-type character following the Path of Nihility. The military healer uses spicy food to debuff enemies, with his Ashen Roast effect increasing the damage enemies take from the party. Here are all of Jiaoqiu’s abilities:
- Skill: Scorch Onslaught – Jiaoqiu inflicts blast damage on enemies
- Talent: Quartet Finesse, Octave Finery – Jiaoqiu’s attacks have a chance of inflicting Ashen Roast
- Technique: Fiery Queller – Jiaoqiu sets an area alight with his spices, dealing fire damage to enemies in the area when he enters battle
- Ultimate: Pyrograph Arcanum – Jiaoqiu fills the field with boiling broth, dealing damage to all enemies and setting a burning field
Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 release date officially confirmed
Honkai: Star Rail update 2.4 will launch on July 31, 2024, and it will have two event warp phases.
The first banner will feature Yunli and Huohuo, the second with Jiaoqui and Sparkle. From there, getting them is just a matter of luck or money, whichever is higher.
Separate from the 2.4 update, HoYoverse also confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail will have a collaboration with Fate/Stay Night. The enduring visual novel will become part of the Honkai universe in 2025. It unfortunately remains unclear how, or when, that will happen.
