With the release date of Atlus’ Metaphor: ReFantazio on the horizon, the company has revealed the exact release date and time for the game’s demo.
Atlus is one of the biggest names in the JRPG genre, largely thanks to the immense success of the Persona series. Persona 5 in particular is heralded as one of the best modern-day JRPGs thanks to its flashy visuals and dynamic turn-based combat. Metaphor: ReFantazio is the first installment in a new series, but takes many of Persona 5’s most beloved features and gameplay elements.
However, while Metaphor: ReFantazio borrows many elements from the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, it also takes several risks. One of the biggest is the game’s setting which divorces itself from the modern high school setting many fans are likely accustomed to. While that decision isn’t controversial, it has left many wondering about the game. Here’s when the Metaphor: ReFantazio demo starts and the download size players can expect.
Metaphor: ReFantazio demo release date and time confirmed
The Metaphor: ReFantazio demo is available anywhere from September 24 to 26, depending on the platform and time zone.
According to the official Korean Atlus account, Metaphor: ReFantazio’s prologue demo will be downloadable for other platforms in Korea at the following time:
- Xbox: 11 pm PT on September 25, 2024
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: 12 pm PT on September 25, 2024
- Steam: 9 am PT on September 26, 2024
It’s unknown what time the demo will be playable in other regions, particularly the West. Fans should expect to get their hands on it a couple of hours after the demo rolls out completely on Korean digital stores.
Players were able to get their hands on Metaphor: ReFantazio demo ahead of the official release date by changing the Microsoft Store region. PC players can easily do this by simply changing their region from the Windows settings.
Will the Metaphor: ReFantazio demo progress transfer to the full game?
Progress by the player on the Metaphor: ReFantazio demo will be transferrable to the full game after the full version is released.
This is confirmed on the official Microsoft Store page for the demo. Additionally, this demo can be played repeatedly without any limitations, letting players take their time with it. The demo is hefty, however, requiring 59.3 GB of storage space for the PC version released through the Microsoft Store.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is slated to come out on October 11, 2024, for the PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
