Atlus’ latest spin-off, Persona 5 Tactica, was released earlier than expected on Steam with players able to download and boot the title a week before the game’s official release date.
The tactical RPG spin-off Persona 5 Tactica brings back the Phantom Thieves for a new adventure, where they are isekai’d to a new world. The Fire Emblem-esque gameplay intrigued Persona fans all over the world even though they’ve been spoiled for choice when it comes to new adventures for Joker and company.
Some PC players didn’t have to wait quite as long as others, though. Persona 5 Tactica was released early on Steam, allowing players to get in ahead of schedule. While it has since then been taken down, details on the starting portions of the game have been spoiled on social media.
Can you still play Persona 5 Tactica early?
Players no longer have early access to Persona 5 Tactica and those who don’t have it already will have to wait until its actual release date.
Fans on social media were quick to let the internet know that Persona 5 Tactica had been released early on Steam. Those who pre-ordered the game on the DRM or happened to be looking at the store page at the exact right time were given the option to install and play the game. It was pleasantly surprising for many when the game ran without any issues. Naturally, some of those players posted screenshots and videos, giving a hint at what’s to come.
As was to be expected, the game was taken down from Steam and the game is now only available for preorder. This continues a trend of leaks regarding Persona 5 Tactica, and the series in general.
Not only was Persona 3 Reload leaked before the official announcement date, but there are also leaks that suggest Atlus is pushing hard to release Persona 6 soon. Sega and Atlus have also been at the center of leaks regarding the Nintendo Switch 2, with the companies reportedly being among the first to receive devkits for the yet-to-be-announced console.
When does Persona 5 Tactica come out?
Persona 5 Tactica officially launches on November 16, 2023. This accidental release occurred eight days before the game’s release.
Fans wanting to play Persona 5 Tactica now have no other choice but to wait for the official release date. Unless, of course, another incident like this happens. Persona 5 Tactica will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
