Pokemon TCG Pocket: Rarest Mega Shine pull cards confirmed

What are the rarest pull cards from Mega Shine?

Players who are looking for the rarest pull cards from Mega Shine need look no further, as the new expansion’s release to Pokemon TCG Pocket has confirmed the latest group of cards players can chase.

Pokemon TCG Pocket collectors have been chasing down rare cards since the game launched in October 2024. These have ranged from specially designed gold crown cards to interactive immersive rare cards to the occasional secret card hidden in missions.

Mega Shine is no exception when it comes to adding new rare pull cards. With gold crowns and shiny cards galore, players have a lot to look forward to.

What are the rarest pull cards in Mega Shine?

Mega Shine features two gold crown cards that stand out as the rarest in the new expansion set: Arbolivia and Metal Coat.

Out of a total 117 cards in the set, two cards share the coveted gold crown status. The first is Arbolivia, originally from Paldean Wonders, who can heal 60 damage to an ex Pokemon. The second gold crown card is Metal Core Barrier, a Fantastical Parade card than prevents 50 damage before being discarded.

Gold crown cards are notorious for being the rarest pull cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket. With an 0.040% chance of pulling one as the fourth card in a pack and an 0.160% of pulling one as the fifth, that number is halved for players looking to pull one gold crown over the other.

In Mega Shine, there’s an 0.050% of opening a rare pack and an 11.111% of getting a gold crown, but that’s still only half a percent odds of getting Arbolivia or Metal Core Barrier.

With Mega Shine, Pokemon TCG Pocket also introduced a new kind of rare pack called the themed rare pack. Players have an 0.005% chance of opening it, but it does contain all five shiny mega Pokemon.

Every shiny Pokemon in Mega Shine

Mega Shine highlights shiny Pokemon, and they each stand out as incredibly rare pull cards.

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, shiny cards now appear as a sixth card in a pack when they are pulled. Players have a 5.238% chance of getting a shiny card, though those odds go down when looking at specific cards.

For the sixth card, there is a 25.420% chance of getting a shiny two star card, or 5.084% of getting a certain mega Pokemon:

  • Mega Charizard X ex
  • Mega Gengar ex
  • Mega Manectric ex
  • Mega Scizor ex
  • Mega Slowbro

One star shiny cards are more common in as a sixth card but rarer as individuals. With 24 one star shiny cards to pull, each has an specific rate of 2.840% of appearing:

  • Scyther
  • Pineco
  • Phantump
  • Trevenant
  • Charmander
  • Charmeleon
  • Ponyta
  • Rapidash
  • Slowpoke
  • Pikachu
  • Raichu
  • Electrike
  • Hawlucha
  • Gastly
  • Haunter
  • Zorua
  • Zoroark
  • Forretress
  • Dratini
  • Dragonair
  • Dragonite
  • Axew
  • Fraxure
  • Haxorus

Additionally, players can now for the first time collect the immersive art rare, in this case Mew, as a shiny card. It also comes as the sixth card and has a pull rate of 6.400%.

The other major category of rare cards contains two star full art rares, which have an 0.500% chance of appearing as the fourth card in a pack and 2.000% of appearing as the fifth.

As with all rare cards, the percent decreases for players looking for a specific card:

  • Mega Charizard X ex
  • Mega Slowbro ex
  • Mega Slowbro ex with rainbow border
  • Mega Manetric ex
  • Mega Manetric ex with rainbow border
  • Mega Gengar ex
  • Mega Scizor ex
  • Iris
  • Calem

Although the set has 117 cards, most pulls are likely to be from the main 69. Still, for those chasing down the rare gold crown Metal Core Barrier, there’s always hope.
