Quidditch Champions: Do brooms matter? Here’s how they work

Quidditch Champions character

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is here and, as expected, brooms are a big part of the game; but how much do they matter in terms of the gameplay?

During Harry Potter’s first year at Hogwarts, he receives the Nimbus 2,000 as a gift. This top-of-the-line broom gives Harry the edge against his opponents. So will this broom give an in-game benefit in Quidditch Champions?

During playtests, brooms were thought to be cosmetic. Players considered it their “drip” in the game. They do not care if they are just a skin; they want to flaunt the work they put into their grind. Players were surprised to learn in the final playtest that the brooms they were grinding to keep for pride could give them a leg up on their opponents.

Do the brooms in Quidditch Champions matter?

Players are able to upgrade their brooms in Quidditch Champions to improve stats such as durability and speed.

As players make their way through the game, brooms can receive upgrades, giving players a stat boost as they progress to become the ultimate champion.

Similar to how guns can be upgraded in an FPS, brooms have multiple statistics that can be upgraded to make the broom stronger. Speed, durability, and agility are the three classes that players can upgrade over the course of their Quidditch journey.

Firebolt Stats

After mastering the tutorial, players will have the chance to upgrade their brooms for the first time. The Cleansweep, Comet, and Shooting Star are the initial brooms players start with if they are playing the base version of the game. The Cleansweep and Shooting Star have their own skins that can be unlocked with game progression.

Can better brooms be unlocked or purchased?

Brooms are available in Quidditch Champions through career challenge unlocks and in-game purchases.

Players who pre-ordered Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions receive the Firebolt, and those who purchase the deluxe version can receive the Stormrider. Linking to a WB Games account opens the Legacy broom.

Quidditch Champions‘ in-game store will offer skin variants of certain brooms. Right now, players can use their game currency on Hogwarts house variations of the Shooting Star series. These skins do not boost the stats, but they make the basic brooms look snazzy.

Quidditch Champions Events

Players who want to fly on the Nimbus 2000 like Harry will need to finish the Chaser Mastery career challenge to unlock his iconic broom, which does have skins for the Nimbus 1700, the 2000, and the 2001. Naturally, players will first have to grind their way through the tutorial, and advance in the story mode.

With WB Games announcing their roadmap of in-game content, players may see more themed broom skins. September will have a Hogwarts Legacy theme, October will have a Halloween theme, and the winter season will host a Yule Ball event.
