Brooms in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions aren’t just a matter of drip; players should look to unlock the Firebolt, Nimbus, and others in order get a leg-up on the pitch.
The right broom makes all the difference in terms of statistics. The base game provides players with three brooms; the Cleansweep, Comet, and Shooting Star. Unfortunately, these basic-looking brooms can become outdated as players start to climb their way through the career mode and PvP. Not to mention they look like the broom in the corner of the house that gets zero love.
There are other brooms that players can use in Quidditch Champions, but they may not come easily or cheaply. Here’s what’s available and how to get them.
All the brooms you can unlock in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
Players can unlock other brooms by completing challenges or linking accounts.
Four brooms are available to players in Quidditch Champions for completing a variety of challenges. The majority of these are acquired simply by playing the game, but some will require players to jump through some hoops in real life. Here are all of the unlockable brooms in Quidditch Champions
Nimbus
Unlock the popular Nimbus by completing the Chaser Mastery career challenge. This will open the base model, the Nimbus 1700. To unlock the Nimbus 2001, players will need to complete every PvP Matches career challenge. Achieving level 40 can earn players the Nimbus 2000, Harry Potter’s pride and joy. This skin is one of the few legendary broom skins available in the game.
Legacy
The Legacy broom is brand new to Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and it has two versions. Players can unlock the rare version by completing a PvP Matches career challenge. The epic version of the broom is the only other broom that players may need to spend some money on. Owning Hogwarts Legacy will give players access to the epic version of the broomstick. Players just need to link their WB Games account to both Hogwarts Legacy and Quidditch Champions.
Oakshaft
Players can open the Oakshaft by completing a Beater Mastery challenge. In Quidditch lore, this broom was rarely used due to its low agility, and the game reflects this in the base statistics.
Swiftstick
The Swiftstick is earnable by completing a Keeper Mastery challenge. Players should keep in mind that, according to Quidditch lore, the broomstick was never used by any Quidditch professionals because it loses power while ascending.
Are there paid DLC brooms in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions?
The only paid DLC broom in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is the Stormrider.
For players who don’t mind dropping a little bit of cash on a game, there is one broom that can be directly purchased. Buying the deluxe edition of Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will open access to the Stormrider.
The Stormrider broomstick is new to the Harry Potter universe. It was never in the books or movies, making this one a true catch if players are willing to drop the money.
Players who received the game via PlayStation Plus or those who purchased the base version can get it through the deluxe edition upgrade. Purchasing it will send the broomstick directly to the player’s mailbox in the game.
How to get the Firebolt in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
The Firebolt is only available to those who pre-ordered Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, and cannot be unlocked or purchased.
If players did not pre-order Quidditch Champions, they are now missing out on one essential broom. One of the more popular brooms from the series, the Firebolt, was only available to players who pre-ordered the game.
In the books, the Firebolt is one of the top broomsticks, with the Bulgarian and Irish National Quidditch Teams using them in the Quidditch World Cup. Players may get a glimpse of opponents riding this broom when they unlock the Quidditch World Cup in the career mode. For those that did preorder the game, they’ll be able to unlock the Firebolt skins by completing the Quidditch Tryouts Rewards track and by completing every Dedication career challenge.
Unbroken Studios has not said whether the Firebolt will be available down the line, but since it was only available to those who placed a preorder, there’s a good chance that the Firebolt will remain an elusive broomstick. However, many games offer pre-order bonuses as standalone paid DLC, so it may become available later.
