The already-controversial Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League finally has a release date, and it’s surprisingly soon.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was initially announced in 2020, with a release date planned for 2022. The game saw a delay to spring 2023, followed by another delay to May 2023, then yet another that had no release window. The repeated delays delighted fans, who disliked the live service nature of the game and likened it to Square-Enix’s recently killed Avengers game.

Despite the fan pushback, the game based on the villains-turned-heroes squad now has an actual release date to look forward to. The latest delay was announced after a 15-minute gameplay trailer garnered a negative response from fans.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League release date confirmed

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases on February 2, 2024.

A new video series entitled “Suicide Squad Insider” has been released, showcasing different aspects of the game. The video explains the start of the story and shows different traversal mechanics. The video ends with a look at Metropolis, the home of Superman and primary setting for the game. The title is being called a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” in press materials.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The PC release will come through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PlayStation 5 version is also confirmed to be getting extra cosmetic goodies as a pre-order bonus.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League version differences

The Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has a Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition, which cost $69.99 and $99.99, respectively.

The standard edition features the main game and four classic outfits for each squad member. PlayStation 5 players also get four “rogue outfits” with the digital pre-order. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Deluxe Edition includes all bonuses from the standard edition, as well as the following extras:

  • Four Justice League outfits
  • Black Mask weapon skins
  • Four Squad Goals weapon dolls
  • Four No Shade outfit color swatches

Alongside this, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Deluxe Edition gives 72 hours of early access before the game’s official release date. Though DLC is typically the main selling point of deluxe edition bundles, the heavy emphasis on skins speaks to the live-service focus of the game. The success or failure of the game could inform fans of what the next few years of releases from WB Games will look like, as all signs point to the upcoming Wonder Woman game being in this same niche.
