The best Supervive characters for new players

All characters in Supervive are viable, but some are better than others.

Playable characters in Supervive are called hunters and they excel in different things. For example, frontliners like Felix can tank damage while fighters like Joule can deal massive damage. As a fusion of MOBA and battle royale, Supervive is a very competitive game. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses. As with any competitive game, some characters are way too good at what they do, and many debates about viability are inevitable.

With all that in mind, some players may want to know which characters are the best in Supervive.

Who are the best Supervive characters at launch?

The best characters in Supervive are Celeste, Joule, Hudson, Felix, and Zeph.

These five characters are the best in the game to pick up and use at any skill level. There’s an argument that an optimal Brall or Jin can also be a candidate for the best hunters in the game. But the skill ceiling locks out many players from mastering those hard-to-play hunters.

Here’s a breakdown of each character and what roles they excel at.

Celeste

Celeste is the best when it comes to zone control.

Although Celeste is under the controller category, she’s a surprisingly potent DPS. Yes, she can control space, but she can also deal tons of damage to opponents. Her passive and normal attack slows enemies, allowing her to do area-of-effect damage.

Her ultimate is a powerful zone denial tool. It forces opponents to disengage and obtains ground for Celeste’s team. If opponents don’t disengage, they risk getting stunned and wiped out alongside their teammates.

Joule

Joule is the typical 1v4 character who can swing the tides of a team fight.

Joule can save a rough team fight thanks to her damage output. Her dash, which is where most of her damage comes from, also resets every time Joule procs her passive.

Joule Supervive

This means she can dash around the fight provided she keeps triggering her passive. This makes Joule a slippery target. Her mobility during fights is something that she uses to her advantage. Players who pick her should keep that mobility in mind.

Hudson

Hudson excels at sustained fights in Supervive. The best time to pick a fight in Supervive is when enemies are in a bad position. Unfortunately for players, this is not how most fights go. Most of the fights in Supervive start by poking the enemy team until their frontliner gets low.

Hudson Supervive

Only after seeing that the enemy frontline is faltering, should teams start to consider diving the enemy team. Hudson’s skills are perfect for these ambushes. Keeping the pressure is important in these attacks, Hudson is the perfect hunter for that job.

Felix

Felix is a frontline character who can set things up for his team. Felix’s gimmick involves his flamethrower that’s very good for sustained fights. He can deal heavy damage on top of displacing enemies. Positioning holds much importance in a game like Supervive.

Abilities that can forcefully move enemy hunters from where they previously stood are very effective. These skills peel foes away from their team and open them up to ambushes. This can force the enemy team to leave whoever was out of position.

Zeph

Zeph is a great support healer that can transport your team to safety or battle. He can transport his teammates with him and disengage from the opponent. He can also do the opposite by diving the unaware opposing team. This makes him a very versatile hunter.

He does this while also having one of the best healing in the game. His healing ability is not an area of effect ability like Elluna’s, but it can pass through his allies. While his healing skill doesn’t have a large area of effect, being point-and-click makes it more consistent.

Zeph Supervive

His ultimate is also unique. It allows him to start reviving fallen teammates remotely if they get hit by the ability’s area of effect. As one of the only hunters capable of the feat, Zeph can be the ultimate support in the match’s darkest hour.
