For players looking to get wildcards for free, the process effectively goes:

This process isn’t fast, but it’s the only reliable option available for getting wildcards in MTG Arena.
The fastest way to start getting packs is to get gold. One of the fastest ways to gain gold in MTG Arena is to do daily quests. These daily quests offer either 500 or 750 gold upon completion.
The best way to maximize gold earnings is to reroll a quest and hope it’s worth 750 gold. Players can reroll one quest every 24 hours.
Players are also able to store three quests in their quest tab, which means that a player can miss logging into the game for three days and still catch up on quests. The quest tab cannot store more than four quests, however, so any quests missed after the third one are gone for good.
Upon reaching 1,000 gold, players can buy a pack of their choice. In this case, it’s highly suggested to purchase packs that will progress the golden pack meter. This can be seen in the game’s store under the packs tab.
To progress this bar, players must buy standard-legal packs. But there were times that golden packs were only progressed by buying specific packs so make sure to check which packs will progress the meter.
