Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has likely seen its logo and some early marketing materials leaked online, and there’s a lot of information that can be pulled from it.
Leaks are a daily occurrence when it comes to the gaming industry. In the grand scheme of things, a logo with a character isn’t all that much compared with something like the entire first DLC pack for Mortal Kombat 1 getting spoiled by Amazon or a data mine catching a possible Fortnite invasion of World of Warcraft. That said, Call of Duty fans may have gotten an early taste of what’s to come thanks to a surprising source.
Twitter user @algebra_sloth posted photographs of what appears to be freshly printed Monster Energy Drink four-pack boxes. These boxes just so happen to have the Modern Warfare 3 logo and suggest that Captain Price will return to the spotlight for the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 logo leaked, Captain Price returning once again
The Modern Warfare 3 logo may contain some hints regarding what fans can look forward to in the game. The logo and imagery is clearly meant to harken to the font and style of the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, bringing back the same font and focus on Captain Price. This comes during a major transition point for the series, and could hint at some of the gameplay elements that fans can look forward to.
While the studio has largely been in a supporting role in recent years, Sledgehammer Games is taking the helm for Modern Warfare 3. The studio co-developed the original Modern Warfare 3 with Infinity Ward before leading the creation of 2014’s Advanced Warfare and 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII. It was most recently in charge of 2021’s Call of Duty: Vanguard.
With Sledgehammer Games calling the shots and the clear allusions to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, fans can read between the lines to theorize what gameplay elements may return. Features like Modern Warfare’s popular slide canceling and mini-map might be back in style with Modern Warfare 3. If fans keep their fingers crossed, they might even get the return of the Dead Silence perk.
When does Modern Warfare 3 come out?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to be released on November 10, with early access on November 2 being offered to some. This is set to be preceded by a beta in October.
Multiple outlets have reported that November 10 is the official launch day for the game, with a beta preceding it in October. Neither Activision nor any of the Call of Duty developers have confirmed this but during the anti-trust hearings surrounding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it was leaked that the publisher is planning to release the game in November.
Expect official confirmation and the usual roundup of trailers and gameplay details to come in the months ahead of its release.
