The Powerpuff Girls were seemingly teased for MultiVersus in the Joker’s gameplay reveal trailer.
On May 13, Player First Games released marketing materials for the next addition to MultiVersus’ roster, the Joker. During the first few seconds of the trailer where The Joker is hacking into Batman’s computer, players spotted characters that aren’t in the game yet. At around 8 seconds in, a card above Shaggy on the right side of the screen clearly shows the Powerpuff Girls.
The tease of the iconic crime-fighting trio joining the MultiVersus roster had fans in a tizzy. But have they officially been attached to the game yet?
Are the Powerpuff Girls in MultiVersus?
A trailer for The Joker seemingly revealed the Powerpuff Girls as playable characters in MultiVersus.
Player First Games has never mentioned the Powerpuff Girls joining MultiVersus and the way the developers revealed them was found to be clever by the players. Aside from this, The Joker’s gameplay trailer seems to be a treasure trove for teases. MultiVersus dataminer MultiverSusie also highlighted a Dexter’s Laboratory stage.
With the lone exception of the Powerpuff Girls, everyone else shown on the screens is already a playable character in the game. This is almost certainly confirmation that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup will be coming to the game. Whether they are released individually or packaged together similar to the Ice Climbers or Pokemon Trainer characters from the Smash Bros series is unknown.
What is the Powerpuff Girls’ release date in MultiVersus?
It is unknown when the Powerpuff Girls will come out in MultiVersus.
MultiVersus will be officially released on May 28th, 2024. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also feature cross-play and cross-progression which means players will have easy access to their unlocked rewards and matchmaking with friends.
MultiVersus was initially released on July 19, 2022, and players had a taste of what the game has to offer. The game closed its servers down on June 25, 2023. While the servers are down, the players can still access the game’s training room and play locally against other players or bots.
Fans are now awaiting the full release, and it seems like the game is already positioned to start rolling out new characters regularly.
