The Shorekeeper: How to build Wuthering Waves’ powerful support

wuthering waves the shorekeeper

With a bunch of buffs and consistent healing, the Shorekeeper is the ultimate support for any Wuthering Waves team if she has a proper build.

After carrying Wuthering Waves for so long, Verina is finally being outshined by the Shorekeeper who proves to be a better choice on all counts. Anything Verina can do, Shorekeeper does even better. Hailing from the Black Shores, Shorekeeper is a five-star Spectro rectifier resonator built to boost allies with powerful buffs and keep them alive with her healing abilities. She’s also the first unit in the game with the ability to save an ally from a fatal blow, giving them a second chance to stay in the fight.

With all these utilities packed into one resonator, Shorekeeper quickly became the game’s most sought-after unit, expected to resist power creep for a long time. Still, her effectiveness still comes down to how players utilize her kit, so here’s a detailed look at her abilities and passive, plus the best Echoes set, weapons, and team setups.

How to play the Shorekeeper in Wuthering Waves

Shorekeeper arrives in the game as a Spectro support resonator that is viable for almost every team in Wuthering Waves thanks to her range of offensive and defensive buffs. Compared to Verina, Shorekeeper delivers a more universal skillset that makes her a must-have for any team comp.

At first, players might find it a bit tricky to grasp how Shorekeeper’s kit works, thanks to those dense, jargon-heavy skill descriptions. Worry not, though. She’s actually pretty straightforward to play, with no complex combos to worry about. But, there are definitely some layers to her kit that players should keep in mind when using her.

As Shorekeeper lands normal attacks, she fills her forte gauge and drops delayed butterflies in the area. Once the gauge is full, her next heavy attack provides a rapid crowd control effect, pulling enemies together.

Next, her resonance skill serves as the first healing source, restoring the entire trio’s HP upon activation. Then there’s her resonance liberation, which not only heals the team but also provides a range of powerful buffs. Shorekeeper’s ultimate ability creates a massive field that features three stages: Outer Stellarealm, Inner Stellarealm, and Supernal Stellarealm, transforming the environment into vibrant shades of blue, purple, and gold, respectively.

Each stage grants the team new effects, and advancing to the next retains all previous buffs.

  • Outer Stellarealm: Restores HP of all party members within range every three seconds.
  • Inner Stellarealm: All party members receive up to 12.5% crit rate based on her energy regen.
  • Supernal Stellarealm: All party members receive up to 25% crit damage based on her energy regen.

Shorekeeper’s resonance liberation can only progress to the next stage when the active character switches using the Intro skill. When her liberation ends, the field will turn gold, and if the player chooses to switch back to Shorekeeper, she will activate an enhanced version of her Intro skill, dealing significant damage and healing the entire party once more.

Best Echoes build for Shorekeeper in Wuthering Waves

Shorekeeper’s best Echoes sets are five-piece Rejuvenating Glow and five-piece Moonlit Clouds. Naturally, support-centric options are the default for the Shorekeeper. However, she does have some alternative options for those who want to get creative.

5-piece Rejuvenating Glow

Rejuvenating Glow is a support-centric set that amplifies her healing ability and offers a boost to all party members’ ATK by 15% for 30 seconds. Shorekeeper has three sources of healing, so the team won’t really face any trouble maintaining this buff. The majority of the playable characters scale with ATK, so this remains to be the go-to choice for Shorekeeper.

For the main echo, players can choose between Bell-Borne Geochelone or Fallacy of No Return.

5-piece Moonlit Clouds

Shorekeeper’s damage and healing scales off HP but she will also need a ton of energy regen. The amount of crit rate and crit damage she provides is heavily tied to her ER, and ER allows her to cast her resonance liberation after each rotation. Hence, Moonlit Clouds is highly recommended as it adds 10% ER, on top of ATK buff from its 5-piece set effect.  Although the ATK increase from this effect only applies to the next character, it is notably higher than the five-piece bonus from Rejuvenating Glow.

The main echo for this Echo set is Impermanence Heron.

Best Wuthering Waves Shorekeeper Weapons

Stellar Symphony tops the list of the best Shorekeeper weapons in Wuthering Waves/.If players don’t have it, there’s no need to fret, as there are viable picks available as well.

Stellar Symphony (5-star)

As the Shorekeeper’s signature weapon, Stellar Symphony has everything she needs to function well as a support and is the best weapon for any conceivable build. It’s an energy regeneration rectifier that provides HP and restores concerto energy over time. Additionally, every time she heals through her skill, the team receives a nice ATK boost.

Rectifier#25 (4-star)

A 4-star rectifier that gives an ample amount of energy regen. Its passive effect isn’t entirely necessary since Shorekeeper won’t benefit from the ATK buff. However, a bit of healing when her HP is low can help keep her alive.

Variation (4-star)

Much like Rectifier#25, Variation is a solid free-to-play energy regeneration weapon to get. By casting her resonance skill, Shorekeeper restores some of her Concerto Energy. This way, Shorekeeper won’t take as long to build up concerto to unleash her intro skill, allowing the next units to spend more time on the field.

Rectifier of Voyager  (3-star)

For beginners or new players who picked up Shorekeeper early, Rectifier of Voyager, an energy regen weapon, is a decent alternative until they find better options.

Best teams for Shorekeeper in Wuthering Waves

Shorekeeper is a universal support unit for any team in Wuthering Waves, offering a range of damage boosts and crucial utilities to protect allies from fatal strikes. So, any hypercarry would love having Shorekeeper on the team.

Xiangli Yao is one of the many carries the Shorekeeper can take to the next level.

Xiangli Yao Hypercarry Shorekeeper Team – Xiangli Yao, Yinlin, Shorekeeper

While it’s true that any DPS can be paired with Shorekeeper when she has a fully kitted build, Xiangli Yao stands out to be the best hypercarry for her.

Shorekeeper’s resonance liberation lasts half a minute and so does its cooldown. This only goes to say that Shorekeeper wants to be with damage dealers like Xiangli Yao, who thrives on extended field time and can maintain a steady stream of damage with hardly any breaks. And then there’s Yinlin, who makes great support by boosting the electro and resonance liberation damage which are exactly what Xiangli Yao needs. With her fast concerto energy regeneration, Yinlin can also unleash her outro with only a few hits, freeing up more time for Xiangli Yao to stay on the field.

Jiyan Hypercarry Team – Jiyan, Mortefi, Shorekeeper

Jiyan-Mortefi team just got better with the addition of Shorekeeper.

Jiyan is an Aero main DPS in Wuthering Waves, focused on dealing AOE damage while grouping enemies during his ultimate. He is often paired with the sub-DPS, Mortefi whose role is to inflict off-field damage via his resonance liberation and buff the Aero DPS’ heavy attacks. By adding Shorekeeper to the team, both on and off-field DPS’ damage will hit harder thanks to crit buffs, and the healing she provides allows the team to survive.

Jinhsi Hypercarry Team – Jinhsi, Zhezhi, Shorekeeper

Jinhsi has the power to unleash six to seven-digit nukes, when supported by Zhezhi and Shorekeeper. Zhezhi is a glacio sub-DPS who not only deals damage off-field through coordinated attacks but also boosts Jinhsi’s resonance skill damage, making her the perfect partner. On the other hand, Shorekeeper focuses on boosting crit and keeping the team alive. However, even though Shorekeeper offers better offensive buffs, her lack of coordinated attacks makes Verina a stronger support choice for Jinhsi.
