President of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Ybarra confirmed that Warcraft and World of Warcraft will have the most news at BlizzCon 2023.
BlizzCon is taking over the Anaheim Convention Center on November 3 and 4. BlizzCon 2023 is the first in-person Blizzard Entertainment convention since 2019 and it’s the first one since the studio has been absorbed by Microsoft. It promises to bring many surprises, with Ybarra confirming on X which titles will receive the most news this year.
Warcraft fans have very high expectations for the Warcraft series at the event. They are basing the speculation on a post from Christ Metzen on X in September. Metzen was with Blizzard for 23 years and worked in a variety of roles including both development and voice acting before departing in 2016. He maintained a relationship with the company, appearing at BlizzCon and reprising his voiceover roles, before returning earlier this year as Blizzard’s executive creative director for the Warcraft franchise.
With Metzen’s tease and Ybarra’s discussion about big things coming for Warcraft at the event, fans are hyped to see what’s in the works.
Is there a Warcraft 4 or Warcraft show coming?
A major announcement may be coming at BlizzCon 2023 regarding the Warcraft franchise, and there has been speculation regarding Warcraft 4 or a Warcraft TV or film adaptation.
In Metzen’s statement, he mentioned the “world” and “soon.” This has fans speculating that an announcement will take place during BlizzCon 2023, even bigger than the World of Warcraft expansion players are assuming is coming.
This has led to speculation on everything from Warcraft 4 to a new TV show or film. Also potentially on the docket is an Xbox port of World of Warcraft. Activision Blizzard has officially been acquired by Microsoft, which could lead to the game finally receiving a console release or possibly Xbox Game Pass integration.
None of this information has been confirmed yet. Fans will have to wait until BlizzCon 2023 to find out what is happening for sure.

Warcraft Rumble is scheduled for release on November 3, just in time for BlizzCon 2023. The game will be available on Android and iOS devices. Players can pre-register now for a chance to gain access to the closed beta.
Warcraft Rumble is an action strategy game in the Warcraft universe. The game has different modes, including a single-player campaign and PvP. In Warcraft Rumble, players collect minis which are then used to play in melee skirmishes. There are over 65 Warcraft minis to collect.
