Cartethyia is officially coming to WuWa, and everyone keeping an eye on her can start preparing by collecting all her ascension materials
Cartethyia, who had a major part in the game’s main quest, is finally stepping in as a playable character in Wuther Waves. In her drip marketing campaign, Cartethyia is announced to be an Aero Sword resonator. Now that the beta’s out, players are already getting a sneak peek at which materials they’ll need to farm up to prepare for her ascension.
Version 2.3 is still ongoing, so there’s plenty of time to prepare resources before Cartethyia officially arrives. Below is a full list of all the materials needed for Cartethyia’s ascension and skill upgrades, along with where to find them.
Complete Cartethyia materials for ascension
Players can level up Cartethyia to 90 by gathering Tidal Residuum series, new 2.4 boss material, new 2.4 overworld material and shell credits. Some of these materials can be gathered and saved straight away, giving players a leg up on the Cartethyia’s arrival in WuWa.

Where to find Cartethyia ascension materials
Players can extract Tidal Residuum from various Tacet Discords influenced by the Dark Tide. This includes Fae Ignis, Nimbus Wraith, Questless Knight, Diurnus Knight, and Nocturnus Knight. Players can also obtain some of these materials by using Premium Enclosure Tanks.
Unfortunately, the boss and overworld materials needed to ascend Cartethyia are not yet available in the live version of the Wuthering Waves. However, they are expected to arrive soon as part of the release of version 2.4, alongside the new upcoming area in Rinascita known as the Septimont.
Wuthering Waves Cartethyia materials for skill ascension
Upgrading Cartethyia’s skills through ascension means collecting Tidal Residuum materials, new 2.4 boss dropped material, Metallic Drip series, and Shell Credits.

Players can farm Inert, Reactive, Polarized, and Heterized Metallic Drips in advance to prepare for Cartethyia’s release. Sword resonators exclusively use Metallic Drips, and players can obtain them from multiple sources across the game. These materials, exclusive to sword resonators, are most reliably obtained through Forgery Challenges. Players can pick between Garden of Salvation in Rinascita or Flaming Remnants in Huanglong, as they prefer.
