ZZZ: All Yanagi materials for promotions & leveling up core skills

yanagi ultimate zzz

Tsukishiro Yanagi is shaping up to be among the strongest DPS options in Zenless Zone Zero, but players must first ensure they level her up with promotion and skill materials.

Players who have completed then story content may already be familiar with Yanagi. She’s a member of the Section 6 faction, working alongside such as Hoshimi Miyabi, Harumasa, and Soukaku. Despite having a full lineup of names, Soukaku has thus far been the only playable character from the faction.

That changes with Yanagi, who is set to be an on-field electric anomaly DPS who uses a naginata to take down opponents. As for her kit, she works well with disorder teams, making her an excellent choice to pair up with Burnice.

Like any other DPS character, she requires a sizable investment to reach her full potential. Before optimizing her kit and giving her the best Drive Disc build, players need to gather all the materials to raise up Yanagi’s core skills. The good news is that all of them can be pre-farmed before Zenless Zone Zero version 1.3’s arrival.

All Tsukishiro Yanagi promotion materials in ZZZ

Reaching the highest level on Yanagi requires a total of 4 Basic Anomaly Certification Seals, 32 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seals, 30 Controller Certification Seals, and loads of Dennies.

As with other characters, Yanagi’s promotion breaks down into six levels, with the full breakdown standing as:

  • Level 20: 4 Basic Anomaly Certification Seal and 24,000 Dennies
  • Level 30: 12 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal and 56,000 Dennies
  • Level 40: 20 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal and 120,000 Dennies
  • Level 50: 10 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal and 200,000 Dennies
  • Level 60: 20 Controller Certification Seal and 400,000 Dennies

Denny is the main currency in Zenless Zone Zero. While proxies will start off with a ton of Dennies, they can disappear quickly as they’ll need to build multiple characters and teams to tackle all the content in the game. But if dennies are running low, no worries. Players can easily grab more by doing quests, joining events, redeeming codes, and checking their mailbox regularly.

The best way to stack up Dennies, though, is by jumping into the Bounty Specialization in Combat Simulation, which can score players over 100,000 Dennies in one go. Just be ready to spend some batteries.

Anomaly Certification Seals are promotion materials divided into three tiers; Basic, Advanced, and Controller. Only anomaly-specialty agents, like Yanagi and Burnice can use them. And if one is looking to save on batteries, ZZZ has a handy craft and dismantle feature that lets proxies swap some low-tier materials for higher ones and vice versa.

Complete Zenless Yanagi skill level-up materials

Maxing out Yanagi’s skills includes gathering 2 Basic Shock Chips, 15 Advanced Shock Chips, 50 Specialized Shock Chips, 1 Hamster Cage Pass, and 500,000 Dennies.

Skills have a maximum upgrade level of 12, and the cost escalates for each additional level:

  • Level 2: 2 Basic Shock Chips, 2,000 Dennies
  • Level 3: 3 Basic Shock Chips, 3,000 Dennies
  • Level 4: 2 Advanced Shock Chips and 6,000 Dennies
  • Level 5: 3 Advanced Shock Chips and 9,000 Dennies
  • Level 6: 4 Advanced Shock Chips and 12,000 Dennies
  • Level 7: 6 Advanced Shock Chips and 18,000 Dennies
  • Level 8: 5 Specialized Shock Chips and 45,000 Dennies
  • Level 9: 8 Specialized Shock Chips and 67,500 Dennies
  • Level 10: 10 Specialized Shock Chips and 90,000 Dennies
  • Level 11: 12 Specialized Shock Chips and 112,500 Dennies
  • Level 12: 15 Specialized Shock Chips, 1 Hamster Cage Pass, and 135,000 Dennies

Farming Basic, Advanced, and Specialized Shock Chips follows a process similar to gathering Anomaly Certification Seals. The main difference is that players will need to go to Agent Skill and choose Current Test, rather than Agent Promotion. Depending on the number of enemy waves, each run can consume as many as 100 batteries.

The good news is that players can a handful of free Basic Shock Chips every day by having an electric agent working at Random Play.

Maxing out a single skill only requires one Hamster Cage Pass at level 12. As an S-rank item, it’s among the rarest and hardest materials to collect. Major events that span an entire patch often reward a Hamster Cage Pass for reaching specific progress milestones, so be sure to watch for them. Additionally, Zenless Zone Zero’s battle pass, New Eridu City Fund, is a reliable source. All players receive one Hamster Cage Pass, while purchasing the premium battle pass grants access to two.

Yanagi core skill level-up materials

Players will have to collect 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, 9 Living Drive, and 405000 Dennies to level Yanagi’s core skills.

Like other agents in the game, focusing on upgrading the core skill will significantly boost Tsukishiro Yanagi’s damage output. Below are all the materials required to enhance Yanagi’s core skill from levels A to F:

  • A: 5,000 Dennies
  • B: 2 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance and 12,000 Dennies
  • C: 4 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance and 28,000 Dennies
  • D: 9 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, 2 Living Drive, and 60,000 Dennies
  • E: 15 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, 3 Living Drive, and 100,000 Dennies
  • F: 30 Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, 4 Living Drive, and 200,000 Dennies

To obtain Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, all that’s required is defeating the Autonomous Tactical Unit – Typhon Slugger boss. This boss becomes available after completing [Rank Up] Path of the Proxy II in Chapter 2 of the main story.

To challenge it, go to Training, select Expert Challenge, and choose the Typhon Slugger boss. Defeating it costs 40 battery charge and yields between two and five Higher Dimensional Data: Destructive Advance, depending on the challenge level. It also comes with bonus Inter-Knot EXP, Dennies, and Master Copies.

Meanwhile, Living Drive becomes the second item needed to enhance agents’ core skills to level D, E, and F. The most straightforward way to get Living Drive is to defeat one of the Notorious Hunt bosses, Unknown Corruption Complex. Each attempt provides one Living Drive, W-Engine chips, and more.

In a week, players can get three Notorious hunt boss materials without spending batteries. Any runs done after that will cost 60 batteries each. Alternatively, Proxies can also visit Casper by teleporting to the Scott Outpost Logistic Shop. This NPC allows players to purchase up to four Reserved Relics per month, costing 150 Z-merits each. Opening this box grants players any boss drop of their choice.
