Dialyn is powerful enough that she rendered all of her fellow stunners obsolete, assuming she has a good build, of course.
Stunners held up surprisingly well for a long while, with Lycaon, Koleda, Qingyi, and Lighter all enjoying relevance deep into Zenless Zone Zero Season 2. Then Dialyn came out. While power creep is a staple of gacha games, there was no “creep” with Dialyn. She raised the floor instantly and without warning.
Not only is she the best-in-slot stunner for a long list of agents, but she’s also future-proofed in a way that few agents are. That makes her a big target for players to pull for.

How to play Dialyn in Zenless Zone Zero
Dialyn is a fairly straightforward stun agent in terms of how she plays, with the caveat being that she does basically everything.
Unlike her immediate predecessors, Dialyn is defined by her on-field abilities rather than off-field daze buildup like Trigger, Ju Fufu, and Pulchra. While that off-field functionality was largely designed to give more field time to primary DPS agents, Dialyn still does that just fine in her own way by giving them free ultimates.
Central to Dialyn’s gameplay are her EX special attacks. These are a three-hit “rock, scissor, paper” combo that take up a small amount of energy each. After hitting enemies with “paper,” they are hit with a debuff that extends stun duration and increases the stun damage multiplier when the enemy is stunned.
Using EX special attacks also charges up Dialyn’s unique resource. After her meter fills up enough, players can hold down basic attack to set up a chain attack. This then lets players use the ultimate of whichever teammate they choose.
Is Dialyn worth pulling?
Dialyn is an exceptionally powerful stun agent, and should be looked at as a must-pull. Quite simply, any Zenless Zone Zero players that don’t have her should look to get her at any opportunity they can.
Dialyn stands as the best-in-slot stunner for many attacker and rupture DPS characters. Her ability to deliver free ultimates alongside extra boosts during stun windows lets her bolster DPSs in a way no other stun agent can.
Upon her release, she rendered all other stun agents obsolete as she offered all the special perks of Lighter and Trigger in one package. She hasn’t really fallen off since then, either. Though Norma is best-in-slot for a few DPS agents, Dialyn’s sheer versatility makes her worth picking up on any account.
Best Drive Disc build for Dialyn in Zenless Zone Zero
Dialyn only has two legitimate Drive Disc build to consider; four-piece King of the Summit with either two-piece Woodpecker Electro or two-piece Energy Regen.
Similar to Miyabi, Dialyn counterintuitively scales on Crit Rate, and it’s very difficult to reach her breakpoint without her signature W-Engine. That puts players in a position where they need to make up the difference with Dialyn as best they can with Drive Disc builds. Here are the set combinations to consider:
- Four-piece King of the Summit, two piece Swing Jazz / Moonlight Lullaby
- Four-piece King of the Summit, two-piece Woodpecker Electro
King of the Summit is the best Drive Disc set for stun agents, so the only real question is which set gets the two-piece treatment. Dialyn is best at 100% Crit Rate, so the goal is to get her to that mark or as close as possible.
With her signature W-Engine, getting to 100% isn’t especially difficult, but does require lots of substat rolls. If players can do so without Wodpecker Electro’s 8% Crit Rate boost, the extra Energy Regen from two-piece Swing Jazz or Moonlight Lullaby goes a long way.
When it comes to substat rolls, Crit Rate is by far the most important. Past that, players should opt for ATK% and Crit Damage%.
Here are the best main stats for each Drive Disc slot for Dialyn:
- HP
- ATK
- DEF
- Crit Rate
- ATK% / Physical DMG% / PEN Ratio%
- Energy Regen
Energy Regen might be surprising as other stun agents opt for Impact, but Dialyn is starved for energy at all times. That makes Energy Regen the clear choice for slot 6.
Dialyn stat breakpoints
Dialyn’s lone stat breakpoint is hitting 100% initial Crit Rate.Once she has this, she maxes out the bonus she gets to her Impact.
Best W-Engines for Dialyn
Dialyn’s signature W-Engine is her best, but there are two strong free-to-play alternatives available to her. Her signature W-Engine is a definitive cut above her alternatives, but unlike Trigger and certain other limited agents, she functions just fine without it.
Does Dialyn need her signature W-Engine?
The best Dialyn build does call for her signature W-Engine, but she is still highly effective without it. While she isn’t as lucky as Yuzuha in having a free-to-play engine as a true equal to her signature, there are two free-to-play engines that offer similar performance.
Hellfire Gears
Koleda’s free-to-play W-Engine offers boosts in Impact and Energy Regen. It’s her best alternative option initially, but gets quite close when it receives multiple overclocks.
Steam Oven
For most players, the craftable Steam Oven will be the go-to alternative. That’s not a bad choice, either. When fully over locked, it is comparable to Hellfire Gears before the latter engine is overclocked. Longtime players who pull multiple copies of Koleda’s engine are better off using it, but Steam Oven works quite well for Dialyn regardless.

Best Dialyn teams
Dialyn works extremely well in basically any attacker or rupture team. Though she isn’t ideal in anomaly teams, with Nangong Yu being the preferred anomaly stunner, but she is an incredible value for players.
Dialyn rupture team – Dialyn + Lucia + Starlight Billy / Yixuan / Yidhari / Banyue / Manato
Lucia and Dialyn combine to offer the best foundation for rupture DPS teams. Lucia’s buffs and Dialyn’s kit combine to let each of them shine.
Dialyn attacker teams
Dialyn slots into a long list of different attacker teams, but there’s more diversity to the composition than there is for rupture agents.
Some great examples include:
- Dialyn, Nicole, Nekomata
- Dialyn, Astra Yao, Evelyn
- Dialyn, Sunna, Ye Shunguang
Dialyn is especially valuable for lifting up 1.0 physical attackers Nekomata, Billy, and Corin, but she works with many more recent attackers, too.
There are a few agents where she isn’t the best-in-slot supporting piece, with Evelyn and Soldier 11 wanting Norma and Ye Shunguang preferring Zhao and Sunna next to her. Regardless, she is a viable option for every attacker in the game.
Best F2P Dialyn team – Dialyn + Nicole + Pyrois
There are actually two different F2P Dialyn that are quite good, but the discussion has to start with Pyrois and Nicole. Nicole and Pyrois have amazing synergy and can be coupled with a number of good third pieces. Once players know how to build and play Pyrois, Dialyn helps elevate them with their massive stun window damage.
The other option is Dialyn, Manato, and Pan Yinhu. Dialyn is a very good stunner alongside any rupture DPS, and Manato is no exception.
