Full Yuzuha build guide: All her best teams and W-Engines

Yuzuha stood as possibly the single best agent in Zenless Zone Zero for a long while, and she still contends for that honor with a good build.

Yuzuha long stood as the game’s lone anomaly-focused support. That’s no longer the case with Nangong Yu and Remielle serving as strong amplifiers for anomaly DPSs. She hasn’t really fallen off yet, though.

Though some agents from around this time have been powercrept out of high-tier status, Yuzuha has stayed strong. At least for a while longer, she’s going to be an agent worth prioritizing in endgame content.

How to play Yuzuha in Zenless Zone Zero

Yuzuha is a straightforward support unit that bolsters allies’ damage output. Central to this is Yuzuha’s Tanuki Wish buff. 

Tanuki Wish grants an ATK bonus of up to 600 alongside a flat +15% outgoing damage buff. That makes her generally decent for any team, but what makes her particularly great for anomaly teams is her additional ability. This increases anomaly buildup rate and disorder damage by 20% each. Tanuki Wish is applied to allies just by using her EX special attack or ultimate.

This makes her incredibly easy to play. Though she has some of her own damage and anomaly buildup, her gameplay ultimately boils down to using one of her moves and then taking her off the field.

Is Yuzuha worth pulling?

Yuzuha may be worth pulling for players who need a support for anomaly teams.

While Yuzuha was the clear best-in-slot support for every anomaly agent for a long while, that’s not the case anymore. Remielle is functionally a support for anomaly teams, and Nangong Yu has a lot to offer players. Still, Yuzuha is very, very good and is worth considering pulling for.

The two key things she offers are that she is extremely valuable for new and low-spend players, and she works with both hypercarry and disorder anomaly teams.

The major caveat is that her viability will ebb and flow depending on how heavily HoYoverse is pushing Zenless Zone Zero players toward anomaly agents. If players are heavily invested in anomaly agents and Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault facilitate running multiple anomaly teams, then she’ll be very useful even if players already have Remielle and Nangong Yu.

For players who aren’t heavily invested in anomaly teams yet and already have Remielle, she may not be the best investment.

Yuzuha best Drive Disc builds

Yuzuha is good for both Moonlight Lullaby and Astral Voice builds, with Moonlight Lullaby being preferred. Moonlight Lullaby is the best-in-slot four-piece set for almost every agent that is categorized as a support. Yuzuha is no different, but certain teams may want Astral Voice. 

That said, Yuzuha has only one legitimate two-piece disc option. Here are her best Drive Disc builds:

• Four-piece Moonlight Lullaby, two-piece Phaethon’s Melody
• Four-piece Astral Voice, two-piece Phaethon’s Melody

Astral Voice is only preferred specifically in two-support teams, which isn’t particularly common. Two-piece Phaethon’s Melody is effectively a must, as her buff partly scales on Anomaly Mastery.

Here are her best main stats for each Drive Disc slot:

1. HP
2. ATK
3. DEF
4. ATK% / Anomaly Proficiency
5. ATK% / PEN Ratio%
6. Anomaly Mastery

Yuzuha actually has breakpoints for both ATK and Anomaly Mastery, while also benefiting from Anomaly Proficiency. This means that players who happen to get great substat rolls can opt away from ATK% main stats.

On that note, ATK% and flat ATK are the priorities, but she does benefit greatly from having extra Anomaly Proficiency. Past that, the roundup of crit stats and flat PEN are preferred.

Yuzuha stat breakpoints

Yuzuha has two different stat breakpoints for her Tanuki Wish buff. For supporting anomaly agents, she needs to have 200 Anomaly Mastery in order to get the maximum buffs for anomaly buildup, anomaly damage, and disorder damage. To give the biggest ATK buff, she needs to have 3,000 initial ATK. 

Worth noting is that the 200 Anomaly Mastery stat isn’t “initial” Anomaly Mastery. It’s effectively impossible to hit that 200 before battle, but buffs in battle can push the stat past that mark.

Best W-Engines for Yuzuha in ZZZ

Yuzuha is one of the few limited S-rank agents that actually has a free-to-play engine as her best-in-slot option. Though Yuzuha’s signature W-Engine is still good, there are actually multiple strong alternatives for her that perform similarly to Metanukimorphosis. This makes Yuzuha an extremely good value for free-to-play players.

Does Yuzuha need her signature W-Engine, Metanukimorphosis?

Yuzuha does not need her signature W-Engine. In fact, it’s not even her definitive best-in-slot option.

Metanukimorphosis only slightly outperforms a fully overclocked Kaboom the Cannon and a non-overclocked Weeping Cradle. The best thing Metanukimorphosis does is that its Anomaly Proficiency buffs help boost up anomaly agents with weaker builds.

Though it still fits her very well, it’s definitely not needed to get great use out of Yuzuha.

Thoughtbop

Sunna’s signature W-Engine is actually possibly her best-in-slot option. Its teamwide damage and ATK buffs are very good, and have incredible uptime. It also gives Yuzuha better Energy Regen than any other W-Engine option, making it better if players have properly built out the anomaly agents on her team.

Weeping Cradle

Weeping Cradle is actually capable of being Yuzuha’s best-in-slot W-Engine. While it’s generally comparable to Metanukimorphosis at a basic level, Weeping Cradle starts out-performing it after multiple overclocks thanks to its debuffs on enemies hit by Yuzuha. Starting at four overclocks, it becomes her best-in-slot W-Engine option.

Kaboom the Cannon

Kaboom the Cannon is comfortably Yuzuha’s best A-rank W-Engine. It has a generally similar offering to Weeping Cradle, albeit without a PEN Ratio bonus. Still, Kaboom the Cannon is only slightly out-performed by Metanukimorphosis.

Yuzuha’s best ZZZ teams

Assuming a proper build, Yuzuha is a powerful support in both multi-DPS anomaly teams and hypercarry compositions. Yuzuha offers enough buffs that players hurting for support agents can use her in attacker-based teams, but she is specifically made to support anomaly agents.

Yuzuha-boosted Vortex team – Velina + Yuzuha + Promeia / Jane / Aria / Alice / Burnice / Vivian / Grace / Piper

Yuzuha and Velina can be put next to any other anomaly agent for a deadly team. These two agents were subtly built to work together, with Yuzuha able to swap forward and Velina swapping backwards into the on-field anomaly DPS. While the most logical option is to have a field-hungry agent like Alice or Grace in that spot, adding an off-field agent like Burnice works shockingly well.

Yuzuha disorder teams – Yuzuha + Miyabi / Promeia / Piper / Jane + Burnice + Vivian + Yanagi

Putting Yuzuha between two supports just works. There are few combinations that aren’t at least workable, but there are some nuances to this. Specifically, players are best served placing an on-field anomaly DPS like Miyabi or Jane alongside an off-field damage dealer like Vivian or Burnice. 

Spook Shack Plus One – Yuzuha + Alice + Vivian / Jane / Miyabi / Burnice / Nangong Yu

Yuzuha has a special mechanic where her contributions to anomaly buildup don’t count when calculating assault damage. This actually makes it so she’s the best-in-slot option for both Alice and Jane Doe, as she helps proc assaults without dragging down their damage. This makes Yuzuha especially powerful alongside them, and the team can be rounded out with either another anomaly agent or Nangong Yu.

Best Yuzuha free-to-play team – Yuzuha + Piper + Lucy

Piper remains the only A-rank anomaly agent, and she gets the same benefits to assault damage from Yuzuha that Jane and Alice do. Nicole and Lucy can both round out the team for a simple, straightforward hypercarry lineup that can clear endgame content with good builds for the full team.
