MOUZ has managed its best result in well over a year, as the Counter-Strike 2 team broke through and managed to win the trophy at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026.
It was a hard-fought triumph for MOUZ, as the team stared down the prospect of elimination in both the quarterfinals and semifinals rounds before posting a more emphatic victory in the finals versus Team Spirit.
MOUZ defeat Spirit in BLAST Bounty Summer final
The grand final match at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 saw MOUZ square off with Team Spirit, who had already claimed a top-tier trophy in 2026 and had also won at BLAST Bounty Fall last year. It was a stern test for MOUZ, who understandably came in the underdog. But this squad wasn’t to be denied.
MOUZ quickly took a 2-0 series lead, controlling play across both Dust2 and Mirage. Spirit managed to prevent a sweep by winning on Ancient, and fourth map Nuke was kept close. But MOUZ was able to finish out at 13-10 win in that fourth game to lift the BLAST Bounty Summer trophy.
Israeli star Spinx was unquestionably the dominant player in the series. He was the top fragger for MOUZ across all four maps played, and in fact was only outscored by another player on the server once, when donk slipped past him during Spirit’s lone win on Ancient.
It was the best result MOUZ has posted since its last significant trophy win, which came more than a year ago at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025. This latest BLAST win serves as notice that MOUZ remains capable not only of contending for CS2 championships, but of actually winning them when everything goes right and its biggest names show up on stage.
Prior to the win over Spirit, it was a rocky road to the final. A quarterfinals match with 3DMAX saw MOUZ drop the first map and then go to triple-overtime before winning the second to stave off elimination. 3DMAX had little left to then offer in the decisive third map, which MOUZ won 13-3.
The semifinals were nearly as close, with MOUZ pushed to the brink of elimination this time by Astralis before mounting a comeback and setting up the finals showdown with Team Spirit.
It was generally a tight and competitive tournament that played out in Malta. Only one of the event’s playoff matches ended in a sweep, as Team Spirit knocked out Team Liquid in the quarterfinal round with little trouble.
Even then, Liquid’s appearance in the playoff round was a result of intriguing results as TL had scored two huge upsets just to qualify. Team Liquid started with a 2-0 defeat of top side Team Vitality before moving on to sweep G2 Esports in even more dominant fashion. Hopes were high among Liquid’s fans as a result, but that momentum couldn’t quite be sustained on the event’s main stage.
FaZe Clan also made a notable run at the tournament, besting The MongolZ in the quarterfinals before losing to Spirit in the final round of regulation in a competitive three-map series.
Attention now turns to August’s Esports World Cup in Paris, where both MOUZ and Team Spirit will be among the contenders looking to take home the lion’s share of a $2 million prize pool.
