Zenless Zone Zero version 1.5’s special program has finally arrived, revealing to ZZZ fans what the update will bring for both old and new agents.
While many of the key additions for the update were already known, including the introduction of agent skins and two new agents, was already known, HoYoverse had a few surprises up its sleeve. The 1.5 special program spelled out everything players have to look forward to the update. And it’s a lot.
From the usual trimmings to some long-awaited additions, here’s everything available in ZZZ version 1.5.
ZZZ version 1.5 content
Everything coming in Zenless Zone Zero version 1.5
Zenless Zone Zero version 1.5 seemed like it was going to wind up being similar to version 1.3; which largely served as a teaser for 1.4 with Tsukishiro Yanagi and post-mortem for 1.2 with Lighter. Instead, it’s looking to be a major update in its own right.
ZZZ version 1.5 banners for Astra Yao and Evelyn, re-run banners for Ellen and Qingyi
New limited banners starring Astra Yao and Evelyn are coming in Zenless Zone Zero 1.5, alongside the long-awaited start of re-run banners.
Astra Yao and Evelyn coming in version 1.5 is no surprise, the two characters were shown in a sort of epilogue chapter for version 1.4. Gameplay footage of the two has been swirling around test servers for some time now, and players can pre-farm ascension materials for them both. While expected, re-run banners kicking off in 1.5 was more of a surprise. The real shock was which two characters will be featured.
During phase one, a re-run banner for Ellen will run alongside Astra Yao. During phase two, Qingyi will run alongside Evelyn. All four character banners will be accompanied by limited banners for their W-Engines. Anby and Corin will be the featured A-rank agents with Astra Yao and Ellen, while Nicole and Anton will be featured alongside Evelyn and Qingyi.
Alternate agent skins coming for Astra Yao, Ellen, and Nicole
Agent skins are coming in ZZZ version 1.5, starting with Ellen, Nicole, and Astra Yao. These skins provide a new look for the characters, but don’t augment or change their skills in combat.
Ellen will be able to switch into her school uniform that has already been seen by players in-game, while Astra Yao can lose her red outfit for a more formal black and white. Nicole will have a pink top with denim jacket that makes her look even more pink than before.
Nicole’s outfit will be available for free during an event, while Ellen and Astra Yao’s new looks will be paywalled. It wasn’t explicitly stated what players will have to pay for these outfits, however.
New story content, including New Year’s event
New story content starring Astra Yao and Evelyn will be included in ZZZ version 1.5. Prior to the update’s release will be trailers and animations delving into the story of both characters. Astra Yao will star in a special episode, and there will be some story content themed around a New Year’s celebration, bringing her together with the established cast.
Speaking of the established cast, a new story mission is set to be added for other characters as well. Ellen will finally star in her own agent story. The introduction of new story agent stories may explain why Qingyi, who already has an agent story, cut the re-run line ahead of Zhu Yuan.
Confirmed ZZZ version 1.5 events
Naturally, there will also be an assortment of different events that keep players returning during the patch and give rewards. Several were revealed during the special program including the following:
- The Day of Brilliant Wishes- Create a new look for a Bangboo and use them for various including a Hasbro’s Simon-style mini-game and Fall Guys-style obstacle course
- Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship- ZZZ adds what every RPG-style game needs; a fishing mini-game
- Godfinger Ultimate Showdown- Players can earn extra Polychromes, Boopons, and upgrade materials by visiting the arcade and playing games, including a new kart racing game, Mach 25 and multiplayer Bizarre Brigade
- Endless Tower: The Last Stand- The battle tower returns with a new set of enemies and players needing to advance 10 floors at a time instead of five
- Click Click Hollow Reporter- ZZZ adds an in-battle photo mode with a free camera
- Today’s Recommended Film- NPCs arrive at Reverb Arena asking about films in something of a rerun of the Daily Life of a PubSec Officer event from September 2024
- A Dream Come True at Last- A puzzle game with a storyline where Belle and Wise are hosting a get-together for the full cast of the game
Alongside these events with gameplay elements are various giveaways and means of driving extra engagement.
