Alan Walker likely coming to Fortnite & Rocket League, here’s when

Alan Walker feature

Mined data suggests that the popular DJ Alan Walker will appear in the upcoming Fortnite x Rocket League collaboration and may release new music during the event.

Epic Games has been on a roll with collaborations. With major names like the K-Pop sensation NewJeans and Pirates of the Caribbean, Fortnite continues to be an unstoppable pop culture singularity. The next addition to the game’s universe is set to be one of the biggest DJs in the world.

The DJ is Alan Walker, the mind behind popular songs like Faded and Alone. What’s more, Fortnite might not be the only game to get a Walker collaboration. Rocket League players might have something big to look forward to, doubly so if they’re Alan Walker fans.

Is Alan Walker coming to Fortnite?

Mined data from the July 23, 2024 Fortnite update leaked an upcoming collaboration with Alan Walker.

This information comes from SamLeakss, a regular Fortnite and Rocket League data miner. The user discovered texture for two Alan Walker-themed vehicle wheels in the Fortnite update’s files, and they’ll likely be usable in Rocket League too through cross-game ownership.

There isn’t a definitive date for when this collab will happen, but hints may have appeared in a music video. Alan Walker’s “Barcelona” video on YouTube has a segment where the date August 8, 2024, is displayed on the screen. If this is the date the DJ’s new song will debut, the Fortnite and Rocket League collaboration events may kick off on the same day, or at least around that time.

The extent of the collaboration is unclear. While Marshmello and Metallica have had in-game live concert events, it’s unknown if Alan Walker will get the same treatment. The same data miner believes the DJ might premier new music in the collaboration, and an in-game concert would be the best way to do that.

Is Alan Walker coming to Rocket League?

Alan Walker is positioned to have a collaboration of some kind with Rocket League, alongside his effectively confirmed appearance in Fortnite.

SamLeakss claims the next major Rocket League event will be Neon Nights 2024. Neon Nights is an annual event that lets players unlock exclusive items by completing special challenges. While the event took place in 2022 and 2023, the 2024 one is still pending. That might not be the case for long.

Neon Nights is largely a celebration of Rocket League music and the 2023 event featured the musical artist Cochise. The data miner believes Neon Nights 2024 will feature Alan Walker, “likely with 5 Player Anthems.” The new music Sam claims Alan Walker will premiere might be one of the player anthems.

It’s unknown when the collaboration will kick off. However, it’ll likely happen before the next major Fortnite update, as the textures were discovered in the July 23, 2024, update. Rocket League and Fortnite will likely start the collaborations with Alan Walker around the same time thanks to the cross-ownership of cosmetics.
