Like most multiplayer games, Marvel Rivals has a separate mode for players looking to flex their skills so here are all the rank badges and how they work.
Marvel Rivals plucks out many of Marvel’s most popular heroes and villains and tosses them into a multiverse that was formed from Doctor Doom’s clash with his future counterpart. In this reality, all heroes and villains are divided into three roles: vanguard, strategist, and duelist. Players in the game’s opening weeks have mostly loved how the game plays, albeit with a few exceptions regarding the lack of a role queue.
Now, NetEase has added a competitive mode, which adds some stakes and fierceness to the competition. But the grind will be worth it since players can earn shiny badges and rewards for ranking up in Marvel Rivals.
What are all the ranks in Marvel Rivals?
Marvel Rivals features eight ranks, each divided into three subdivisions. Unlike traditional ranking systems where the lowest tier starts at one, Marvel Rivals begins players at Tier 1, with Tier 3 being the highest within each rank.
This continues until rank Eternity, where skill is determined by a point-based system. Similar to most competitive multiplayer games, players at the Eternity and One Above All ranks compete for a spot in the top 500 rather than earning a traditional badge.
Here are all eight ranks in Marvel Rivals:
- Bronze III, Brone II, Bronze I
- Silver III, Silver II, Silver I
- Gold III, Gold II, Gold I
- Platinum III, Platinum II, Platinum I
- Diamond III, Diamond II, Diamond I
- Grandmaster III, Grandmaster II, Grandmaster I
- Eternity
- One Above All
To jump from one tier to another, players will need to earn 100 points, meaning 300 points are required to rank up. Points decrease with each loss, and consecutive wins may result in ranking up faster. Other games utilize this approach to ensure players’ ranks can more quickly align with their actual skill level. Besides badges, players will also get season rewards for hitting a max rank.
In Season 0, NetEase is offering a free Moon Knight cosmetic for Gold players. Grandmasters and above will also gain a Crest of Honor. Other seasons will likely offer other unique rewards.
How to unlock ranked mode in Marvel Rivals
To gain entry into Marvel Rivals ranked mode, players must at least be level 10.
Marvel Rivals ranked mode is highly competitive, which is why entry is provided only to those who have proven their commitment to the game with playtime. As such, a minimum level of 10 is required to unlock ranked mode.
This prerequisite can ultimately be fulfilled by playing quickplay matches. After grinding for a bit, players will be able to freely select ranked matchmaking.
