Zenless Zone Zero affords a good bit of room for player expression, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t definitive best teams in the game at any given moment.
As with any gacha game, HoYoverse actively promotes new characters and mechanics in its games. In ZZZ, this results in some enormous “shill buffs” that make the newest character feel like an absolute monster. On the flipside, starting with version 2.2, the company started to “anti-shill” certain characters that it viewed as overpowered.
That has made for a rapidly shifting metagame, but a few specific pieces have been cemented at the top. Here are the best Zenless Zone Zero teams right now.
The best Zenless Zone Zero teams
As of ZZZ version 2.5, the game is moving in a direction where there are bosses specifically tailored for one of the three types of DPSs; rupture, anomaly, and attacker. That makes it so players should look to build out at least one powerful team for each class. Here are the best options for each one, and what makes them powerful.
Best attacker teams
Ye Shunguang is the definitive best attacker in Zenless Zone Zero and likely will be for some time. Naturally, the best attacker teams in the game are ultimately moving pieces around her. Almost any combination of Dialyn, Zhao, Sunna, Astra Yao, Ju Fufu, and Trigger makes for an extremely powerful team that can clear ZZZ’s endgame content with ease.
She’s not alone in this regard, though. Here are the best attacker teams in the game today:

The multiple buffs to Soldier 0 Anby have kept her meta-relevant despite the power of Ye Shunguang. Putting her alongside Trigger and either Orphie or Seed borders on being an instant win against enemies that are weak against electric damage. Alternatively, Seed can be slotted in as the primary DPS and backed by Orphie and Magus.
Finally, Evelyn remains surprisingly relevant despite not receiving any real buffs since release. Her synergy with Astra Yao remains exceptional, and the team can be rounded out with either Lighter or Dialyn to give her huge damage potential during stun windows.
Best rupture teams
There are only four rupture agents in Zenless Zone Zero as of this writing and, unfortunately, there is little room for flexibility. Yixuan remains the definitive best rupture agent in the game, even with two limited S-ranks to contend with in Banyue and Yidhari. Yidhari and Banyue also decidedly need their best-in-slot teammates, while Yixuan can dominate with far less investment.

Lucia is the most sought-after teammate across all rupture agents and likely will be for the foreseeable future. She was tailor-made to boost rupture DPSs and still does this better than anyone else.
Banyue and Yidhari can’t match the damage output of Yixuan, despite being more recent releases. Much worse, both effectively require top-tier characters to post strong numbers in endgame content without mindscape and signature engine investment. Meanwhile, Yixuan offers much more freedom for low and medium-spend players who might need to roll with free-to-play characters like Pan Yinhu, Pulchra, or Qingyi.
There’s a good chance that Yixuan remains the top rupture agent for some time.
Best anomaly teams
Compared with rupture and attacker compositions, there’s a great deal more freedom afforded to anomaly teams. Not only are there two distinct styles of anomaly teams structured around disorders and crit-based hypercarries, but there are multiple strong options to lead both of these compositions. With that in mind, here are the best anomaly teams:

Alice and Miyabi have stood as the strongest on-field DPSs in Zenless Zone Zero for some time, and almost all the best anomaly teams are structured around them. Version 2.6 sees them joined by Aria and the Angels of Delusion.
Over time, more pieces are likely to be introduced around Aria beyond just her faction mates.
