After Season 1 ended with a literal bang, Season 2 spoilers have revealed what will happen between Jinx and Vi. Somehow, their relationship will get worse.
Fans long speculated that League of Legends champions Vi and Jinx were related in some way. Arcane developers took this theory and turned it into a long, tragic backstory. Recent leaks revealed how their relationship progresses or doesn’t in Arcane Season 2.
Here’s what fans can expect to see between the leading characters in the first few episodes of Arcane Season 2.
Conflict between Jinx and Vi remains central to Arcane Season 2, spoilers show
Season 2 starts with both Vi and Jinx admitting that Powder is gone for good and wastes no time in pitting them against each other.
Vi joins the Hextech squad started by Caitlyn after the attack on Piltover’s ruling council. Despite being conflicted, Vi agrees that Jinx needs to be stopped but insists that no one else can do it. Jinx, meanwhile, appears in Arcane Season 2 episode 2 and is mostly trying to stay under the radar while dealing with the grief of killing Silco.
After a chase through the vents of Zaun, Vi gets a chance to kill her sister.
“I’m glad it’s you. It had to be you,” Jinx says.
Except Jinx’s new adopted sister of sorts gets in the way. Vi isn’t willing to shoot a child, so Jinx escapes. Clearly, the two care for each other but are still positioned as opponents. As Jinx tries to maintain a new, quieter existence, Vi leaves the Hextech squad and Cait.
Jinx and Vi may reunite in Arcane Season 2
Jinx and Vi reunite after the return of an important figure from their past.
Despite the terrible terms of their parting, Jinx seeks out Vi to tell her about Vander’s return. While not believing her at first, Vi sees that Vander has become the League of Legends champion Warwick. Despite being a cyborg werewolf, a part of his personality is still in there. The three, plus the new kid Aisha, share a family hug.
The rest of Arcane Season 2, or part of it at least, seems set up to work on rebuilding the sisters’ relationship. Because the show is what it is, the writers are sure to add more bumps in the road. All fans can do is wait for the show to come out fully in November.
