Dragon Age: The Veilguard achievement leak reveals story spoilers

Dragon Age: The Veilguard achievements

Dragon Age: The Veilguard isn’t coming out until the end of October but its achievements have already been leaked, giving some big spoilers for the game’s story and characters.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the fourth installment in the action role-playing series, and it’s a game that fans have been anticipating for over 10 years. Players will step into the shoes of a hero known as Rook as he and his companions attempt to stop Solas from finishing a ritual that will tear down the Veil, allowing demons into the world. Oh, and the Witch of the Wilds, Morrigan, is back despite voice actor Claudia Black tricking fans into believing otherwise.

While the general plot is known about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the choices gamers make will significantly impact how the story goes. Ahead of the game’s release, achievements have been leaked that have major hints at what the campaign involves. Here are all of the major story spoilers from the leaked achievements for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Is Fen’Harel the main antagonist in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?

Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain are set to be the main villains of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, according to the spoilers in the game’s trophies and achievements.

While some of the above achievements are vague, others give a lot away about the game’s campaign. Fen’Harel was once believed to be the main antagonist of The Veilguard but it’s actually two elvish gods Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain. Rook’s actions in the gameplay reveal trailer trapped Solas in the Fade, freeing both Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain from the Veil.

So who is the Dread Wolf? It’s complicated. Basically, it starts with Solas, an ancient elf and trickster god. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, he trapped the Evanuris inside the Veil when he started to believe their vanity would eventually destroy humanity. This led to elves losing their immortality and Solas felt the weight of this horrible outcome.

His goal is to undo what he did to the elves, but this would ultimately destroy the world. Due to his behavior, newer generations of elves believe that Solas is the trickster god, Fen’Harel.

While Fen’Harel is not the main antagonist as previously speculated, the achievements show that players will face him early on in the game. He will later play a big role in the campaign, as seen by the six Fen’Harel achievements players get by witnessing his memories.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard achievements leak seemingly reveals multiple endings

The leaked achievements seemingly confirm that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will have multiple endings, though they do not completely spoil what happens.

Many Dragon Age fans are starting to wonder if there are multiple endings in Dragon Age depending on the decisions they make in-game. This is due to the wording of three achievements:

  • In Peace- Found hope in the aftermath
  • The Ones That Last- Beat the odds and walked into the sunset
  • The Storm Quelled- The poisoned fruit ripens

This has been true for past Dragon Age games, with players having to make some difficult choices to unlock certain endings.

Some of the achievements also revealed various quests that players will likely partake on during the campaign. This includes helping a variety of characters like a tinkerer and master assassin, aiding Shadow Dragons in taking down Minrathous, as well as aiding the Crows, Grey Wardens, and Lord of Fortune.

The achievements also reveal that there are various factions and locations to explore, each giving them a trophy. The story will be broken up across 14 parts.

Some gamers are wondering why none of the achievements seem to be related to romances Rook forms based on the player’s decisions with each companion. Given how romances are set to work, it’s possible this was to make earning a 100% trophy or achievement easier, as one for each romance option would require several playthroughs. But don’t worry, that’s still part of the game.

For now, players will simply have to wait for Dragon Age: The Veilguard to launch. They can make that wait a bit shorter by pre-loading the game.
