Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero got its first patch which fixes some issues in the game while also nerfing the comically overpowered Yajirobe.
Since the launch of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Yajirobe has frustrated many players with his cheesy kit. Another glaring issue players have reported is trying to queue up in ranked mode with classic controls but aren’t able to use certain moves thanks to a glitch. Fortunately, Sparking Zero received its first patch.
In addition to making Yajirobe finally feel like a 2 DP character, the patch fixed some problems plaguing online matches to better the player experience. Here are the biggest changes to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero after the patch.
How was Yajirobe nerfed in Sparking Zero?
The Yajirobe nerf decreases his health pool and increases the Skill Counts required to use Senzu Beans.
Instead of having three health bars, Yajirobe now has two and a half bars. Besides that, his Senzu Beans skill now costs 6 Skill Counts instead of 5. These changes make his Senzu Beans less viable since they cost an extra Skill Count to use, and it will only refill his health to 2 and a half bars.
Thanks to this, players can’t spam the skill as much as before. Even if they do, it won’t be too difficult to deal with him at full health.
Also, Yajirobe now starts with 0 Skill Counts instead of two, so players can’t use his skills immediately. Yajirobe players must now play the match longer before they can finally replenish enough Skill Points to eat the Senzu Bean.
What else does the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero patch change?
The new Sparking Zero patch fixes issues related to classic controls not working in online matches.
Ever since the game launched, players with classic controls were having unresponsive controls in online matches. This issue only happened when the person wasn’t the host and was fighting against someone with standard controls. The problem was that players with classic controls couldn’t use their Blast 1 skill, and special moves would show incorrect prompts. The new update fixes the issue, and now players with standard and classic controls can play together without problems.
The update changes the difficulty levels of specific stages in Episode Battle on lower difficulty settings. The infamously difficult Great Ape Vegeta battle likely had something to do with this, as even the official Bandai Namco X account made memes on it. There are some optimizations in the patch to make the game smoother.
The developers are still investigating some remaining issues. One major issue is when players, especially those playing on the PlayStation 5, have their data corrupted, forcing them to start over. Other players share they have connection errors and online matchmaking issues whenever they queue. Future patches will likely tackle these issues.
