Full guide to Grace in ZZZ with best build, W-Engines & Disc Drives

grace zzz

Grace is one of the best pulls ZZZ players can get and with the right W-Engine and Disc Drive build, and a proper team composition, she can be one of the most impactful characters in the game.

Grace has the potential to be one of the best Anomaly agents in Zenless Zone Zero. Building her can be a bit awkward, however. The ideal Disc Drive and W-Engine formula for her doesn’t overlap with many of the early roster members of ZZZ, so players will need to invest resources into kitting her out, with those investments not effectively translating over to other characters. This will change over time as more characters get introduced but for early adopters, it’s impactful.

Regardless of the build verticality and repurpose potential, equipping the best W-Engines and installing the perfect Drive Disc set is essential for getting the most out of Grace in ZZZ.

How to play Grace in Zenless Zone Zero

As an S-Rank agent, Grace Howard comes with an electric attribute and boasts the highest Anomaly Mastery in the game alongside Piper. This standout feature makes her one of the best agents in Zenless Zone Zero when it comes to weakening enemies with debuffs and focusing on Attribute Anomaly.

Grace can build up Electric Anomaly much faster than her fellow agents. Her outstanding mobility and brief field time make her one of the finest choices in Shock-focused team combinations, too.

However, her dependency on other Shock characters is her key drawback.  Even though she can deal serious Shock damage, her damage potential is lower without another Shock-focused teammate.

In fact, playing Grace in a team without a top-tier support like Rina results in a massive drop in Grace’s performance. Her synergy with Rina, another S-Rank ZZZ agent who triggers Grace’s crucial abilities like Disorder, is the main reason she stands out from the pack.

Because of this, Grace’s best W-Engine and Disc Drive sets push her toward being a Shock-focused support agent rather than a main DPS. Her playstyle requires constant movement and a focus on buildup as well. She is a solid pick for a Shock-focused team especially when she is paired up with another Electric agent.

Best W-Engines build for Grace in ZZZ

The best W-Engine for Grace is the S-rank Fusion Compiler, but there are some solid alternatives. That includes some free-to-play options. For both Grace’s best W-Engines and Drive Disc sets, she benefits the most from boosts to her special attacks.

S-Rank Fusion Compiler

Fusion Compiler boosts Grace’s Anomaly Proficiency when she launches a special attack or an EX special attack. It’s the perfect W-Engine for Grace as it enhances the most crucial aspect of the S-Rank Anomaly agent in Zenless Zone Zero. Its 24% PEN ratio and solid base attack of 684 make it the best W-Engine for Grace.

Electro-Lip Gloss

The best W-Engines for Grace also include Electro-Lip Gloss, an A-Rank option that offers a 10% increase to the agent’s ATK. Those who don’t have the Fusion Compiler in their arsenal can go with the BP-exclusive W-Engine as well.

Despite offering a lower base attack and a rather small increase in Anomaly Proficiency, Electro Lip Gloss is still a great W-Engine thanks to its 15% damage increase on enemies afflicted by her Shock attribute. This gives Grace a major spike in her DPS, even if it isn’t as optimal as the Fusion Compiler.

Rainforest Gourmet or Weeping Gemini

The best free-to-play W-Engines for Grace are Rainforest Gourmet and Weeping Gemini. Those who haven’t unlocked the upper tier of W-Engines can compensate with these two, provided that they are enhanced to at least three stars.

At three stars, Weeping Gemini offers a significant boost to Grace’s Anomaly Proficiency when the enemies are inflicted with an attribute anomaly. This effect stacks up to four times and disappears when Grace takes the enemy down or the enemy recovers from the stun. It’s a great W-Engine for Grace at the F2P level but naturally, it’s not as effective as the for-money alternatives.

Best Drive Disc Set for Grace in Zenless Zone Zero

The best Drive Disc sets for Grace are undoubtedly the 4-piece Thunder Metal and 2-piece Puffer Electro.

The best Grace build in ZZZ stacks Drive Discs and W-Engine boosts to bolster her PEN ratio and make the most of her Shocks. Increasing Grace’s Anomaly aspects is essential while bolstering her PEN Ratio is highly impactful. These are the best possible Drive Disc sets for Grace in ZZZ:

  • 4-piece Thunder Metal and 2-piece Puffer Electro
  • 4-piece Freedom Blues and 2-piece Thunder Metal
  • 4-piece Freedom Blues and 2-piece Swing Jazz

4-piece Thunder Metal and 2-piece Puffer Electro

The 4-piece Thunder Metal provides a much-needed 28% increase to Grace’s ATK when an enemy is inflicted with Shock. The 2-piece Puffer electro, on the other hand, offers an 8% increase in PEN ratio. Both these offer excellent synergy with Grace’s kit and helps her deal significant burst damage on disabled enemies.

4-piece Freedom Blues and 2-piece Thunder Metal

As an alternative, the 4-piece Freedom Blues and 2-piece Thunder Metal also works well with Grace, It’s a strong Drive Disc set, with the 4-piece Freedom Blues reducing the enemy’s anomaly buildup resistance.  While it doesn’t boost Grace’s anomaly aspects, it renders her enemies more vulnerable and drops their resistance by 35% for 8 seconds. The 2-piece Thunder Metal comes with a 10% increase to Grace’s electric damage as well.

4-piece Freedom Blues and 2-piece Swing Jazz

Those who lack the first two in their arsenal can also go with this Drive Disc set. This combination reduces enemies’ anomaly buildup like the previous set combination. and increases Grace’s Energy Regen by 20% with the 2-piece Swing Jazz. A boost to Energy Regen is important as the Shock agent and accelerates everything she does.

Best team composition for Grace

Putting Rina and Anton with Grace is the best team composition to make the most out of this S-rank agent.

The best team composition for Grace utilizes Shock buildup instead of relying on her as a main DPS. Grace shines when she get to weakens her enemies with constant Shock attacks and by triggering her Disorder ability.

She also has a brief field time, allowing her to utilize her skills and quickly disappear. This lets the player focus on two other agents after triggering Grace’s efficient Anomaly skills. Here are all of the best team compositions for Grace in ZZZ, and how they work.

grace zzz team composition

Rina, Anton, and Grace

Rina and Anton are the best teammates for Grace in Zenless Zone Zero. When it comes to Shock-oriented compositions, this trio has one of the best synergy in the game. Rina is incredibly important here as she is the one that makes Grace’s abilities reach their full potential.

She enhances the Shock status, rendering Grace’s performance much more noticeable. Since she is a Support character, though, actual damage dealing is left to Anton. With his buffed-up damage, Anton eradicates his Shock-inflicted enemies often with ease.

Grace, Anby, and Anton

Those who haven’t added Rina to their Gacha arsenal yet can go with Anby and Anton as well. Excluding Rina unquestionably lowers the team’s potential, but Anby partly compensates with similar stats.

Grace still serves as a Shock dealer in this team composition while Anby applies Daze with Anton pumping up constant DPS. While Rina fits the spot perfectly, a trio lacking her is still a great alternative as one of the best Grace team comps in ZZZ.
