Ororon users should play Ororon as a sub-DPS support unit focused on using his skills to set up Electro reactions.
As a sub-DPS unit, Ororon should only appear in the field for a while. This is mainly applicable when players are trying to set up major damage rotations with Electro-type characters.
Ororon’s normal, charged, and plunging attacks all shoot arrows that can reach a wide area range in the field. As for his elemental skill and elemental burst, Ororon deals Nightsoul-aligned Electro-damage to enemies. The former, known as Night’s Sling, lets Ororon throw a spirit orb of Midnight Shade. As for the latter called Dark Voices Echo, he creates an ancient ritual and summons the Supersonic Oculus which can continuously taunt nearby enemies and attract attacks from them. It also continuously rotates and fires off sonic waves.
But what makes Ororon a standout as an Electro-type sub-DPS unit is his passive called Nightshade Synesthesia that makes him enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state for six seconds, which in turn triggers a Hypersense effect that deals Nightsoul-aligned Electro-type damage at 160 percent of his attack.
Within 15 seconds after using Night’s Sling, Ororon can gain five Nightsoul points for each of his teammates’ Electro or Hydro attacks. This can be triggered every 0.3 seconds and stacks for a maximum of 10 times throughout the whole duration. The build-up makes Ororon’s damage even more powerful, so always switch him in when the main DPS unit has low health.

With Ororon being a sub-DPS unit that takes advantage of the Nightsoul mechanic, using the Scroll of the Hero of Hinder City is a great way to increase his damage. It also provides added boosts to his teammates.
When two pieces of Scroll of the Hero of Hinder City are used, Ororon gains six elemental energy when a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst. But when four pieces of the artifact are used, all the nearby party members gain a 12 percent elemental damage bonus for all the involved elemental types which lasts for 15 seconds. This also becomes a lot more powerful if Ororon is in Nightsoul Blessing’s state, making the bonus for his teammates 28 percent and prolonging the duration for 20 seconds.
If players are still not able to get the recommended artifact build set above, using Thundering Fury is the next best option because of its bonus damage for Electro-type characters that become bigger depending on the type of attack that is used. The cooldown of the elemental skill bonus also decreases when elemental reactions are triggered.
The best weapons for Ororon in Genshin Impact
The best weapon that can be used for Ororon is the five-star Elegy for the End. The go-to Aqua Simulacra can also be equipped if players still do not have the former.
The Elegy for the End gives a great bonus stat of 55.1 percent for energy recharge. As for its ability, it focuses more on elemental skills mastery being boosted depending on the number of sigils that are gained by Ororon when using this while being an off-field sub-DPS unit. This is great as a support ability for teammates to build up elemental damage to enemies.
Bow users can always rely on Aqua Simulacra because of its straightforward ability to boost the damage output of its user by 20 percent. The critical strike damage also increases by 88.2 percent, as well as his HP by 16 percent.
