Prometheus has arrived in Hades 2 and players will undoubtedly have some trouble against the tough-as-time Titan, but he can be beaten and there are some cheese options available for those who need them.
As far as early access games go, Supergiant Games does its best, especially with the Hades series. Though still a ways away from completion, Melinoe’s adventures in Hades 2 already surpass the length of Zagreus. With the Olympic update for Hades 2, Melinoe’s story continues, farming Adamant and fighting Olympian mechas along the way.
The road to Olympus’ summit features boss fights against Polyphemus, Eris, and a newcomer, Prometheus, the Titan of Foresight. Once a benevolent being, Prometheus’s imprisonment has made him bitter and spiteful. The titan will do everything in his power to stop Melinoe from climbing further up the mountain, much to the player’s misfortune.
How to beat Prometheus in Hades 2
The key to beating Prometheus is careful positioning around his flames.
Much like Chronos, Prometheus will kill most players who reach them for the first time with a series of devastating one-shot attacks. The most troublesome part of the Prometheus boss fight in Hades 2 is his penchant for long-lasting flames.

Unlike typical projectiles, Prometheus spawns flames that will last a long time, rendering parts of the battlefield unusable. Prometheus will line up his attack, but before firing, he will stop the moving target to charge the flames. The player should dash out of the attack’s way during that short pause. Additionally, avoid letting flames ignite in the middle of the battleground to make dashing around the field safer during the fight.
After Prometheus takes a certain amount of damage, he will fly to the edge of the screen and tease a series of flame strikes. Memorize the red lines of the flame strikes to dodge them once the attack pattern starts. Hades 2 players will have to deal with this at least twice during the boss fight with Prometheus.
How to cheese Prometheus in Hades 2
Crowding Prometheus and staying close to him as much as possible is the closest thing to a cheese method for this boss fight.
Sticking close to Prometheus prevents him from blocking the player’s path with flames or firing dozens of projectiles. While this isn’t an unintended strategy, it’s also the best approach.
Because Prometheus will dash away a few times during the boss fight, players aren’t able to break the AI. The titan will reset positions multiple times over, but players will want to stay glued to him as much as possible.

The best weapon against Prometheus in Hades 2
The Black Coat is the best Nocturnal Arms against Prometheus in Hades 2.
While all weapons in Hades 2 are perfectly usable for any boss fight, the Black Coat’s features are particularly effective against Prometheus. The omega attack blocks most incoming damage before Melinoe unleashes a heavy blow, making it a perfect guard against Prometheus’ projectile spam and rapid punches.

Plus, the omega special with seeking missiles guarantees damage even while the player is dodging. If the player lucks out and meets Athena in Olympus beforehand, boons like Divine Dash will make the boss fight slightly less of a struggle.
