Pokemon TCG fans are curious about the Terapagos ex-themed Ultra-Premium Collection coming later this year and thankfully, the release date and promo cards have been revealeed.
Earlier this weekend, fans were given a first look at the next Ultra-Premium Collection which features the newest legendary Pokemon. There are a lot of TCG goodies coming this year already, including the Dark Powers ex Special Collection at the end of this month, the Stellar Crown expansion in September, followed by the Charizard ex Super-Premium Collection in October.
The Terapagos ex collection is still a bit of a mystery but there’s some interesting information already released as well as things the TCG community can predict based on past releases. Here is what is known about the collection so far.
When is the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection coming out?
The Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection is coming out on November 1, 2024.
This is a bit far away but there are plenty of products coming out before then to keep trainers occupied. From August 30 through the end of the year are a crush of special Pokemon TCG releases heading into the holiday season. Things kick off with the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle and Dark Powers ex Special Collection which are both released on August 30.
Then on September 13 comes the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Stellar Crown expansion. The Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection kicks off November and will likely be a highly sought-after item. Though likely not as sought-after as the Charizard Ex Super-Premium Collection which comes out October 4.
What is the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection?
Ultra Premium Collections are special kits that include exclusive promo cards, booster packs, and other accessories related to a specific Pokemon.
The product description for the upcoming Collection has been revealed. It states: “With its glimmering shell made of Terastal energy, the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos shines brightly in its super powerful Stellar Form!”
Ultra-Premium Collections are special products for Pokemon collectors that come with a foil promo of the featured Pokemon. In this case, the Pokemon is Scarlet and Violet legendary Terapagos. They also have gameplay accessories and cards. The value really comes from the box in full, however, since it’s focused on collectors.
What cards are in the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection?
The Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection will contain a special promotional full-art version of Terapagos ex.
It will also include two other promo cards. The specific cards in the Collection are unknown except that there will be two other Tera Pokemon ex in the Collection. It has not yet been confirmed which exact Pokemon those will be.
Tying everything to Terapagos and Tera Pokemon ex is thematically appropriate. The legendary turtle was revealed to have special ties to the Terastal Phenomenon that causes Terastalization in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk. Terapagos was the faux title legendary of the DLC, following Ogerpon who was central to the Twilight Masquerade expansion.
What’s in the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection?
The Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection’s contents are already confirmed, and they include a number of accessories alongside three promo cards.
The full contents of the Collection are already known, aside from the full lineup of promo cards. The confirmed items trainers will get in the box include:
- 3 promo cards
- 18 booster packs
- 8 foil “Cracked Ice” Terastal basic energy cards
- 1 playmat
- 1 deck box
- 1 metallic coin
- One-Touch Protector from Ultra PRO for three cards, including base
- 6 damage counter dice
- 2 plastic condition markers
- Pokemon TCG Live code card
The artwork for the playmat and box has also been revealed. It features a vibrant image of Terapagos ex in its Tera form. Some trainers have lamented that they preferred the art on the box itself and wished that was the image on the playmat.
Will there be a Pokemon Center exclusive?
It is unknown if the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection will include an exclusive item from the Pokemon Center, but precedent suggests it will.
Similar products ordered from the Pokemon Center have included an exclusive item in the past. For example, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 151 Ultra-Premium Collection included a Squirtle promo card with the Pokemon Center icon that was otherwise unobtainable.
