Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 patch is coming and it’s set to bring a metro system, romantic partner hangouts, and much more.
At launch, Cyberpunk 2077 had a multitude of problems including bad optimization, missing features, and various bugs. Though the game’s legacy is stained because of this, CD Projekt Red has rebuilt both the game and the brand. Not only is there a popular anime in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and an upcoming live-action Cyberpunk project, but the base game itself has been significantly improved and continues to get substantive updates.
While multiple features are being added to Cyberunk 2077 through the upcoming 2.1 patch, the most notable ones are the new metro system and partner hangouts. Fans have been asking for both of these since the game was released and they’re finally getting them.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 patch release date
Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 patch will be playable on December 5, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The update won’t be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, just like the 2.0 update. Though the past-gen console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are both functional at this point, they are not getting further content updates.
Patch 2.1 will be released alongside Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition and will be accessible to every player who owns the base game. Players won’t need to purchase the Phantom Liberty DLC to enjoy patch 2.1 content.

Cyberpunk 2077 adds partner hangouts and a metro system
After the 2.1 patch, Cyberpunk 2077 players will be able to go out with the characters they have romanced and ride on the metro train.
All players could previously do with partners was call them, or go to their place to interact. Alongside the patch’s release date announcement, CD Projekt Red has also teased that players will be able to initiate romantic partner hangouts. Fans are excited for the opportunity to do more with their in-game romance partners.
Additionally, while the game has always had a fast travel system, fans will now be able to actually go inside the metro train for a trip around Night City. Fans have been wanting this feature ever since the E3 2018 trailer which showcased the train at the start and it’ll likely be present in the eventual Cyberpunk 2077 sequel too.
There are 19 metro stations players can travel between and five operating metro lines that can be found on the map. The metro station will be available only after the Konpeki Plaza sequence in the game and won’t be just for traveling, as some small secrets are teased to be in the metro.
